my 1 year old has been having green poopy diapers this past week. i have asked nurses i worked with if i should be concerned and they said no but im getting concerned b/c he is not eating anything green and it still comes out green. about a week ago he finished an anitbiotic for his ears which he still picks at them so i already called the doctor to try to get him in. i just dont know what else to do. #1 cause of green poop: Blue food coloring. Also caused by foods high in iron (beans, spinach, oatmeal, etc.). As mentioned, also caused by antibiotics.

Whatever goes in, must come out and sometimes it looks pretty weird coming out! lol Generally speaking, the only things you need to worry about with poop are frequency and consistency. If there's no stomach pain, no diareah (I can never spell that right!) and BMs are happening regularly, you're in good shape.

Hope that was helpful! :^)

Green poop after antibiotics can be normal. Also, if he's got ear infections he may be having post-nasal drip and that will cause green poop as well. If he's not sick in any other way (no fever, no vomiting, no obvious pain) I wouldn't worry about it.

blackberrys, blueberries, frreezies popcycles, are some of many foods that will turn poop green. No biggy, as long as hes happy and healthy there is nothing to worry about.

It doesn't mean anything my kids have green poops often. It doesn't mean you have eaten anything green. It is completely normal.

My daughter has had it. Lay off the juice for awhile if he is drinking any. If it gets runny, then he could have a stomach virus. If it's just green then it's just his diet most likely. Green liquid poop is what a stomach virus looks like. If he gets that, just feed him bland foods, cheese, and pedialite with water.
