Has anyone else had a tubal ligation? If so, has it affected you in anyway?

I got my tubes tied almost 2 months ago, right after my daughter was born, and was wondering if anyone had any weird side effects or emotions.

I got mine done during the C-section (second one) for my second child. During the post partum period, I did feel twinges on the sides above my incision, and the nurse mentioned that sometimes it happens with tubals. However, it is 3 months later, and I don't have any pain. That being said, it IS a strange feeling (almost regret but not quite - I did not want more than 2 kids) that I feel occasionally that I no longer can have children. It is this emotion that I did not expect. Hope you are having a good recovery!

I had mine done 14 yrs ago. I made my Dr. sign a paper that if she delivered a baby for me after, she had to take it home......I have not gotten pregnant. No side effects either.

I posted a comment awhile ago on this and now i want to change what i said. i got mine done in December and i am now 5 weeks pregnant so.

I had mine done about 8 months after my daughter was born (due to a wait list at the local hospital) It will be 3 years in November. Since then I have developed ovarian cysts...never had them before I had this done although I can not prove that the operation had anything to do with them. But they do cause a great deal of pain which is definately no fun.

NONE, I had mines tied 22 years ago, now it hurt like crazy for a couple of months but after that no side effects at all. now you get to have all the fun you want to without the worry of birth control.

I had one 5 years ago. I have had no complications. I love not having to worry about birth control. Do you will not regret it.

I had mine done 6 weeks after my daughter was born. This was 6 months ago and i feel fine no side effects so far.

I had mine done at the same time I had my daughter because I was having an emergancy C-section (long story). This was almost 5 years ago and I was fine with no side effects.
