I had a sporatic period (heavy flow for a few days, then slow or nothing, then begin again) for a few months, thought it was early menopause, I was 38. An elderly woman at my work out of the blue told me she could tell I was preg. I told her nicely she was crazy. Went to GYN to get the shot (Depro), judging by the hormone level, they said I was 5 wks pregnant! Went back in a few days to have abortion, she found out I was 21 weeks!!!! Apparently the hormone peaks then wanes. I now have a perfectly healthy wonderful 3 1/2 yr old son. Don't worry about the period but do see the OB/GYN just to be sure.

See a doctor to be sure.....but I have 7 children and with my 5th and 6th pregnancies I bled for the 1st 5 months...I thought i was having periods but I was wrong it was only the weight gain that got me warry...I did 2 tests each time and had a negative then a positive...4 months after each positive test out popped healthy strong boys....so strange things can happen....I really do believe that the best thing you can do however is to seek proper medical advise for your own peace of mind...good luck.

I had a period with my first pregnancy up until I was 5 months pregnant. My doctor told me I am an anomoly....only like 1 in 100 women do that! Lucky me! No wonder I didn't know I was pregnant for so long!

Sorry to hear that. I had something very similar happen to me. I took 3 pregnancy tests on a Friday and on Monday I started my period and the pregnancy test was negative. That is very tough to go through. Hang in there!

With my first 2 kids I had a period the entire pregnancy. The first child I ended up falling and having an xray for my lower back(they did a urine and blood test for preg) and they found the little guy on xray. I ended up being 4 1/2 months pregnant. The second was the same way, except the docs wised up and when I started feeling so tired all the time they did an ultrasound to see and I was pregnant again. The 3rd child was completely a normal pregnancy. All are healthy and a royal pain in the butt at times!!!

With my daughter, I had my period the entire first trimester. It wasn't until I was super-ill (we're talking ER & Stomach Scoping) that I (me-not the ER or the doctor) went and bought a test at Walgreens and took 3 that all said positive!

A lot of people have miscarriages and don't even know they have had them in the first 6 weeks and just pass it off as a heavy period or sometimes its normal, I have had a couple but then with 2 of my children I had a normal period until i was 6 or 7 months pregnant, since then I have read about others that have done the same.

how heavy was the period, sounds like you might have had a miscarriage, but I would have a blood test done just to be sure.

With my last child I had a little spotting but nothing like a period. I would call your Dr. right away for sure. Good luck with everything and hope all goes well.

Sounds like you might of had what is called and early miscarriage. If you start bleeding at all during pregnancy you should call your dr right away. Its not something you should mess around with. I would call your dr anyhow and have a blood pregnancy test done. This is a test where they will measure the pregnancy hormone and tell you if you are indeed still pregnant or if you had an early miscarriage. Good luck. Keep us posted.
