Has anyone had an IUD removal after having it in for 5 years & trying to get pregnant again??

I'm 30 years old and have had my IUD in for five years. I'm suppose to take it out in March. Was wondering if anyone else has had it for 5 years and had it removed so they could conceive again? What was your experiance like? How long did you wait to conceive? Were their any complications? I was ok with it, but then I heard it hurts really bad when they remove it and after it's removed you need to wait till you start trying again because you could possibly miscarage. Please advise.

I had the mirena for 3 years, so not exactly 5. It didn't hurt when I had it removed, my doctor told us we could start trying right away but suggested I wait one month for everything to regulate. We were pregnant within 3 months of having it removed and had no complications, but then again my first pregnancy was easy too.
