Has anyone had any experience with natural 'gender selection'?

I have 3 boys, and my husband and I are planning to start trying for a 4th child some time in the next couple years. My oldest son is 7, and I have 2 year old fraternal twin boys. We would be happy with a child of either sex or even another set of twins, but I'd really be over the moon to have a little girl. I heard from a neighbor that there are several natural gender selection methods that you can use to help increase your chances of having a girl. Has anyone had any experience in this area?

I have no experience but I have heard of a VERY COSTLY procedure of gender selection. Basically, they separate the X & Y chromosome and you go thru the procedure of artificial insemination to get the sex of your choice. However, it's not guaranteed that you'll become pregnant and if it fails, you'd have to do it all over again...including the cost. Good Luck!

The Shettles Method is based on the fact that male and female sperm travel and survive in the reproductive tract for varying amounts of time. So you time intercourse about 12 hours prior to ovulation or just after for a boy and several days before ovulation for a girl. This is a very simplified explanation of Shettles. The therory here is that male sperm swim faster, but female sperm live longer. So having intercourse a couple of days before ovulation occurs the male sperm get there then die off, the female sperm take there time but are there when the egg is released. If you have intercourse hours before or just after ovulation then the male sperm, who swim faster, will get to the egg before the female sperm. So if you want a girl know when you typically ovulate and start having intercourse daily days before.

I read in the newspaper that studies show if you eat cereal everyday you are 80% more likely to have a boy...I'm a bit skeptical on that but it happened to me! I eat cereal everyday and had a boy...
