I have had my tubes tied for 11 yrs. now and my period was really heavy so I had to have some tumors lazered out of me and now I am on birth control at 44 yrs. old. Never had a heavy period until I had my tubes tied and I tell you the birth control has really helped.

yes, heavier than previously and more cramps. It was never too bad to begin with but they both have increased.

My youngest is 5 years old now, I had my tubes tied after giving birth (c-section). I had my first period about 7 or 8 weeks later. It was horrendous. Extremely heavy and cramps so severe I would almost pass out. I would have to call my sister to come take care of my children because I was not able. My periods were so heavy I could not leave the house. My OB put me on the patch, that helped my cramps but not my flow. Eventually I had endometrial ablation done. It did not stop my periods, but greatly diminished them. however as the years have gone by they have started to get a little heavier and my cramps are starting to return(not as severe).

I had my son in June and my tubes tied. I still haven't had a cycle, but my doctor said that if I do, in fact, have a heavier cycle that I could always go back on the pill...yay. Good luck with everything.

My youngest is 14 and I had my tubes tied about 6 weeks after he was born. I can tell you that I have had heavier periods and more pms symptons as the years have gone by. Not all of my periods are heavy, heavy, but most are heavy for the first couple of days and then it slacks off. My periods also seem to linger a little longer than they used to. Mine will last about 5-7 days now when used to maybe be 3-4 days. But what I can say is it was definitely worth it. The comfort of knowing I am not having any more kids and don't have to worry about birth control, WHAT A RELIEF!!!
