Has anyone birthed outdoors or had a homebirth in a more "natural" place? I'd love to hear about your experiences!

I totally understand your yearing to change plans Catalina. I really REALLY wanted a water birth for son #1, but in the middle of it I just HAD to get out & labor near a bed. Not sure why, but it's what had to be done at the time :) Son #2 was born in the middle of December, so out doors was out of the question...and it snowed the night he was born! However, #3 is showing up in August, so I'm looking for places to birth outdoors. I don't know yet since I live in an odd type of community that might not be okay with it. There are plenty of beautiful, natural places to birth all around me, but they aren't really secluded, so, we'll see what we can find.

I planned to have one with my son, I really wanted to be in our yard! (we have a creek and a big oak tree it's my heaven!)

I was all set up to do so, my midwife was on board! But when labor started I had a deep yearning to be in my home, so we moved inside! I'm not sure if it was the newness of labor or my sons desire but something deeply made me want to be inside and warm and safe!

I do still really want an outdoor birth though! It's just such a natural act it only feels right for it to be in nature!
