Has anyone heard of this book?

The author specifically said it is not a kids book. It was designed like a kids book but it is not he said so when he was on the Today show when all the drama started over this book I have seen pieces of it online. It is about how a parent feels the 50th time they r telling their child go to sleep after reading 10 times and 5 drinks of water and 5 trips to the potty and whatever other excuses the kids can come up with.

This is for all the people who said Duh and use common sense... Obviously you didn't see the second paragraph written or read it and use common sense showing that a magazine implied it was a children's book... Thus showing it's readers a false impression of the book... I wish there was a way to delete these comments because they are not helpful nor positive, but leaving them up justifies that not all people read before posting a comment or use common sense...

When I first saw the title, I was shocked, too!! LOL Anyways, as others pointed out, this book is for parents and actually it is hilarious! I also saw Samuel Jackson reading in on letterman, check this out ladies!!!

No I don't own it yet, but I'm ordering some for Christmas presents and will be keeping one for myself.
No I wouldn't want my child picking it up because it is NOT a children's book. It is a hilarious adult spoof.

Yes I have heard of it, look it up online. Samuel L Jackson reads it. It is NOT intended for children. It is a book more for adults and their frustration when a child won't go to sleep. How you put a child to bed and they need to go potty, then a drink of water, then another kiss, ect. ect and you finally WANT to say go the F*@k to sleep. get it.

@ Bernadette, YES! So many times that is exactly whats going on. My daughter had colic and by the fifth hour of pacing, rocking, shushing ect. I would so be thinking that exact sentiment. LOL

LOL, Yes I have read it, and NO it is NOT a childrens book. BIG DUH to that. It is for parents that have a difficult time putting kids to bed. I red it, and could relate. Made me laugh and relax the next time I had a struggle with night time routine...

Seriously though people....this is for parents. Anyone that wants to read it to their kids...BAHAHAHAHAHAHA......it is for adults.

I have it and think it is really funny. Not a children's book. There is a new one coming out more child appropriate called Goodnight Ipad. It is one you can read to little ones and quite funny also. It comes out at the end of this month I think.

this one is more for the frustrated parents to have a laugh at, because you read and go "I so wish that I could say that sometimes!!!!" Seriously, aren't there times that you are rocking your baby and gently sushing and whispering calming things while in your head you are screaming "Go the F#@k to sleep!!!!" It is definitely NOT for children, it is just a JOKE for frustrated parents who know how hard it can be to get a child to sleep, and to realise that you aren't alone and that there is a funny side to it.

it's not a childrens book. there is a child friendly version that is swear free. it's meant as stress releife. i first heard about this book one morning after being up 8times with my daughter and twice with my son. it made me smile. there is a rather funny u-tube clip of noni hazelhurst who used to be on playschool reading it.

I do have this book, made me chuckle. My 2 year still wakes during the nights sometimes and I feel the same way. ~never say it to her, but it's funny to hear a perspective like this on it. I bought mine from amazon.com a few months ago. And it is kept FAR out of the reaches of little hands. The words a NOT @#*ed out in the book, just the cover. Must have been a misprint in the magazine. I'm sure Decembers issue will have a lengthy apology..........

It's not a childrens book. No one ever said it was. It's a fully book for parents about putting htier child to sleep. Don't let your kid read it. Period.

I've read it, and I've heard Samuel L. Jackson read it aloud. It is a satirical rhyming book to get a smirk out of parents who have been frustrated by kids that won't go to sleep. I won't buy it, b/c I read it online. Also, it's too long for the joke that it is. It's not a knee-slapper, even for adults, and it's not at all meant for children.

I get it for free... I wouldn't pay for it, it has a whole bunch of stuff that I already know and do way before they publish it, but there are some things that have been helpful, it's just as useful as forums, chat rooms, advice and the internet. ;D

November issue 2011 Parenting magazine article by Holly V. Kapherr states:

" The blockbuster children's book of 2011is set to be translated into Korean, Serbian, Czech, Taiwanese, and about 20 other languages. But some cultures were less welcoming than others. 'My partner is Swedish, and though she loved it, the Swedish community didn't get it at all,' says Mansbach." Look @ Parenting magazine for getting that idea across to people it is a children's book... Not because people have read it and assume, it's because people were given the wrong information. It's on page 18, this is why I posted it, I just couldn't believe it was for children.

I have read it a friend of mine posted a link on FB for it. Like Kellie said it's NOT a Children's book it's just a funny read for mom and dad because I'm sure at one time or another we've had to send the kids back to bed after they've asked for something for the umpteenth time.

I haven't seen the Samuel L. Jackson version on youtube, but there is a version on Youtube by Noni Hazelhurst who was a "Play School" presenter on Australian TV many years ago. It's so funny because she is reading it as if she were reading the story on "Play School". I love it.
