I have mirena and i'm showing all the classic and some not so common signs of pregnancy... i took a test at my doctors today and get my results in the morning...

i've missed my cycle by 5-6 wks

i kept cramping and bloating off and on for the last 2 weeks, yet no cycle would come

i work out 5 days x 1 hr and diet, i check my progress by measuring my waist and now suddenly i've stopped progressing and if nething have gained an inch at times due to bloating

increased vaginal discharge

dizziness

irratibility

swimming sensations in my abdomin

increased fatigue

and now just this evening i've been feeling achey all over as though im coming down with a flu (which is how i felt when i was pregnant with my son)

i have tested negative with a home test, however

I had all these symptoms in the beginning of my pregnancy with my son... the only one i'm missing so far is sore breasts... i've heard mirena can cause a lot of side effects similar to being pregnant but for me to suddenly, in the last two weeks, start experiencing all of them is really odd!

Has ne1 else on mirena have had similar side effects?

Has ne1 gotten pregnant on it?

THIS IS A COMMON COMPLAINT

I found this out on another forum when I had those symptoms. I did 2 tests (one at the doctor) Both were negative. Yes it is possible to get prgnant on one, but virtually unheard of if you have had it for more than a few months. Anyway, it turns out that I was not pregnant. At one low point was so depressed that I felt like I needed medication because the symptoms were so extreme (10 times worse than when I was pregnant). The symptoms did pass eventually and I have had no problems since. For the most part I am very happy with it, but if these symptoms ever come back I might get it removed.

I had the Copper IUD when I got pregnant with my son. I was told if I were to get pregnant it would "be an act of god" exact words from the doctor. I was in total denial that I was pregnant and attributed all my symptoms to stress. I was almost 4 months by the time I actually realized I was pregnant. If you are really worried about it go to the doctor, there tests are much more accurate (With my first child I had taken 6 at home tests that were all negative before finding out I was actually pregnant).

i've had mirena for six months now... i too experienced a lot of bleeding in the first 3 months... my cycle use to be 3 days long before i got pregnant... and on mirena it's 7-10 days now that i've gotten use to it... but i've been very regular on it... and i've never experienced any of these side effect until 1-2 weeks ago

I got mirena also and i love it the only downside is i swear i have had my period for like 3 or 4 months straight my doctor told me that was normal though due to it thinning down the lining in the walls of your uterus, i dont know i would recommend it to anyone who is looking for something that works really well but isnt permanent.

As with any form of birth control there is a chance to get pregnant on it... even with the mirena there is a tiny tiny chance of getting pregnant... . i know the mirena is supposed to shut off your period.. so maybe its just your body getting used to the mirena (if you just got in put in recently) other than that.. i'd say go to the docs to get it checked out...

let me know how it goes, i've been really really considereing getting the mirena.
