HCG leves in early pregnancy

im having the excat same problememily, i took two home test they were neg. i waited a week my school did a test the nurse came from the health dept and tested me, it showed postive but very faintly like a reaally light piink, they want me to get a blood test but im scared and ive never been to a gyno so i more scared of that this is my very first pregnancy with my boyfriend and im trying not to stress out but i can barely eat anything its like almost everytme i eat it hurts my stomache reeaaly bad its almost unbareable but it goes away, im trying not stress but my bf is in national guard and he leaves june 20th for 7 weeks, and right now as im typing this my stomache is starting to huurt:( but im here for you girl. coz im going thru the excat same thing. and its crazy im constanly worrying, to so i know what ur going thru. but we can do this and i wish you best of luuck :)♥

congrats, i know someone who found out about thier pregnancy at 3 weeks and are still going strong they are due in may. im trying for #2 also

Thanks guys :) This is all making feel a lot better. I guess I'm just really worried that it could be a chemical pregnancy. I'm worried about a miscarriage because I had my IUD removed Jan 24th, and I'm worried that my uterine lining is too thin to actually carry a child to term! But I guess I'll be worried about miscarriage well into the second trimester, so I'm gonna try not to think about it so much!

Usually when there is any line (no matter how faint) it indicates pregnancy.With all three of mine I knew before my period was due and tested before, each time getting the lightest line! With my second, I got my blood test so early that I also had to go back for a second one. I wouldn't worry....there is such a thing as being a LITTLE pregnant...and this is it! It's just really early b/c you're aware!

Hi there Emily, I had a positive home test and we went to the ER cause i did not have a doc at the time and they did a pee test (pos) and then a blood test (pos but weak) to secure a time line, it was a very long day as they called late that night and said that the level was low meaning that i was only 4 weeks along, i was upset cause i was hoping for further as my hubby and i were trying for a few months and i had no periods for 3 months. It was a very confusing time but all in all in turned out great as i am now almost 4 months along, so this could be the case with ur situation. I hope that my story gives u hope, and i wish u and ur hubby all the best. Try to relax and take another home test as the other women suggested and see if it comes up darker and u have a more positive test and then maybe that will ease ur mind enough until the blood test on Mon. Hi Emily,
Try not to fret too much. Added stress isn't good... though I know how hard this can be and I'm sure you do too! With my 1st I was the same way. I was three months along before it would even show up on a urine test and 8 weeks before a blood test would confirm it. Though I had an ultrasound done and they knew I was and all was where it should be. Doctors were stumped as to why it wasn't showing up with the tests though. I was monitored closely because as another mom said it could mean something is seriously wrong but with mine everything turned out alright! =) Think of the positive... my baby was born 2 days early and she was absolutely perfect and healthy. She still is and is 8 1/2 now. =) So while it can mean something bad it can be nothing. Try to relax and find something, anything, to occupy your mind. Watch a movie or t.v.... read a book... etc. =) Best of luck!

This site explains a little about hcg levels.  It even says that levels can be below "normal" during pregnancy and the pregnancy can result in a perfectly healthy baby.  It also says that an ultrasound at 5-6 weeks is a much better indicator than hcg levels.

I don't know your history, but they want your HCG levels to double every day for the first month or something I don't know the exact time. But if they don't double that means there is trouble. Meaning you are pregnant, but that doesn't mean you have a healthy pregnancy. I don't mean to worry you more. But its a true fact you should know, but when levels don't double you could possbily have an ectopic pregnancy. I did! and my numbers didn't double, Please just keep an eye on how you feel. go with your gut. Ectopics are nothing to mess with. I hope this turns out good for you and your family!!

I did the same thing, took two at home tests and they were both faintly there.. this was at a little under 4 weeks also, but my doctor said that they trust the home tests and dont do a blood test. Im sure glad they didnt now hearing your story, because I would be freaking out too if they said it was neg! So, i would tell you trust the home tests, theyve come a long way. And you will always be nervous of a miscarriage until you hold that baby in your arms, its only natural.. I just kept track of the risk factors and how much they go down as you go along and that kept me pumped up and less worried. 9 months later she was here and she is fabulous!

Thanks guys! I am planning on taking another home pregnancy test tomorrow. i think they wanted to wait until monday to see if i might get my period first. I'm just so nervous as I really want this pregnancy!

I had the exact same thing happen with my first pregnancy. I had to wait a week for another blood test which showed the same results as the first blood test. They made me wait another week for another blood test. My HCG had almost trippled by the third one, but it was the longest 2 weeks of my life! I hope it all goes well for you!

Hi Emily, i know its hard not to worry about these things. To put your mind at ease you could always do another pregnancy test say tomorrow or saturday and see if the line is darker and comes up quicker. Thats what i did as my first test was really faint and seemed to take around 2 - 3 minutes to appear. I did another one like a day after my period was due and it came up quicker and was darker. It made me feel better as it meant the hcg levels were increasing. Hope this helps and good luck.

You don't need to wait to wait until Monday...go tomorrow and they should have doubled. Try not to worry about the blood test, some doctors don't even do one at all if the home test was positive. If they won't do another blood test before Monday then do another home test for rassurance. Its possible to get false negative, but extremely unlikely to get a false pocitive.
