Well...just to add my two cents to the already huge pile...my best friend has a circulation problem called Raynaud's disease...this list may scare you but please don't let it...it never bothered my friend other than her hand...just may be something you want to look into.


Raynaud's disease is a condition that causes the blood vessels in the fingers, toes, nose, and ears to become constricted (narrowed) in response to cold temperatures or stress.
During an episode, the affected areas of the body may feel numb or turn white in color. Symptoms will start to go away once the patient is exposed to warm temperatures or reduces his/her level of stress.

When the condition occurs by itself, it is called Raynaud's disease (or primary Raynaud's). However, sometimes this disorder is a symptom of another medical condition, such as scleroderma (an autoimmune disease), lupus, or a blood vessel disease. In such cases, the disorder is called Raynaud's phenomenon (or secondary Raynaud's).

sounds like a blood pressure type thing. maybe she has good blood pressure, or possibly high blood pressure. sounds like if shes not crying because it doesnt hurt then itll b fine

Of course, that doesn't necessarily mean that it isn't normal, just that I have never heard of it and if you are insecure about it, then you should get the second opinion. Sorry I wasn't more clear on the first post.

I've never heard of such a thing and certainly wouldn't think it was normal. I would get a second opinion.

My son turn blue when he can't catch his breath. I found out he has big tongs!

I have seen this happen also! I would just massage the extremity's when this happens to increase circulation. This happens to my 5month old son but only when he is in his swing. I massage his hands and arms also his feet and it helps almost immediately!

If the doctor says it's normal and the rest of her isn't turning blue or white, then it's probably just her still immature cirulatory system at work. My son's hands would turn white when he was mad or when he was crying hard. Their little bodies just can't circulate the blood to the extremities as well as an adult or older child can, thats also why their hands and feet are usually cold too. Also, make sure the bath water is at an acceptable temp, if its too hot or too cold, it can cause a response like that.



If you are really concerned though, try taking pictures and taking them with you to the doctor next time, just to be sure.

One of my kids had the same thing when he was a baby it' s babies have poor circulation the Dr. told me
