I know walkers can be dangerous but i think its the best for my son and my family, being he is never left alone. But, i need to know if anyone has a suggestion on which walker to buy. I am trying to find a nice durable, sturdy, safe walker that will roll on carpet & tile. Our house is carpet except for our cluttered kitchen. If anyone knows of a walker that is all of the above please let me know. thanks

my son's walker was $32 at walmart. might be safety 1st. its the shape of a car, its lightweight, easy to adjust the height, the seat isn't too wide so we dont worry bout his legs being pushed apart too wide, has a playdeck that makes music that he rips off and chases around the room and it goes on carpet and non-carpet floors. he loves it! so far its been our best investment to date. good luck!

Don't buy. Better to buy a box, so it is safe and baby can play there. Last summer I met 3 children with feet defected by that kind of beginning to walk. They try to step on toes and cannot manage. In walker wrong musculs are trained
My friend made massage to a baby 1,3 because he didn't want to walk - too challenging.
My son was rolling a lot, than at 7 months started sitting, at 9 was walking with support and at 11 without. It comes natural.

I found one on ebay, and it is the Safety1st "Winnie the Pooh" one. It seems to do fine on both carpet and and other flooring. I think that it is great and very sturdy. There are toys already on it, and then the toys will flip away opening up a tray area where you can put cereal puffs or other things...Good luck

i think walkers are only bad if your child is is them for long periods, i was in one so im living proof it doesnt affect your legs or the way you walk. I also need a walker for on carpet as the one ive got doesnt roll only on hard floor :(

Kolacraft Tiny Steps! My 3 year old used it and now my 7 month old is using it. Its pretty durable, its been crashed in to everything at our house and been on numerous camping trips. It cleans up very good :O) Both my kids used it as soon as they could hold there heads up. My 3 year old was walking when he was 8 months old and my 7 month old really trying!! Hope you can find one that works for you! :O)

walkers don't benefit kids in anyway or hold them back there just a toy for the kids ..my son isnt walkin and he is almost one..and he barely uses his walker..lol..i totaly agree with u on kids doing things at there own pace ..every kid is diffrent

thankyou all that have replied so far. it is very helpful i appreciate it. i will look at the ones you all told me about. And i did read up on a study today about kids that use walkers walking late but i dont beleive it. it wasn't very convincing i beleive children do things at there own pace. my son has been wanting to walk since he was 2 months old. lol i could hold him under his arms n he would walk n take steps it was so cute. i was worried he would be bow legged cuz all he wanted/wants to do is stand up but his dr told me that was a myth. but i used a walker n i started walking at 8 months
