I know it feels like forever but 4 1/2 months isn't that long. I think just the fact that you have lost the baby weight is a HUGE accomplishment. I got pregnant with my second when my first was about a year old and I was just starting to feel comfortable with my abdominal area again. Now I am pregnant and will have to start all over again once this little guy makes his appearance. I think the best you can do is to tone the belly muscles, eat healthy and try not to be to hard on yourself. I know it's cliche but....It took 40 weeks to carry the baby, at least give yourself the same amount of time to let your body recover and try to rediscover it's shape. Good luck!

I hate to say it, but I have a 14 year old (he's my only one), and I still have a pot belly! I went down to 130 lbs about a year after I had him, and the pot belly just wouldn't budge, no matter how many crunches, sit ups, etc I did. I think my only other option is a tummy tuck!

If you do the excersices that they give you after you have your baby you should be right. I've had four children, My youngest is 5 months, Abbey will be 1 in march, Ryan is 2 in feb n Tyler is 9 in jan. Also if you have rasberry tea it helps tighten ur servix a little. The best time to do these exercises when your menstral cycle is there. N don't forget to do your pelvic floor exercises. That helps with bladder control. Things like putting the wash basket on the ground so you have to bend down to pick up each item, You breath in n relax your tummy as you stand n breath out while pulling your tummy in as you bend down. This helps alot. Especialy if you do it every day. Same with lifting your children. Just do it the same way. It helps build your stomache muscles back up. That's all it basicly is. It's not fat just loose muscles.

i'm in the same boat! first baby born july 18th of this year and i hate the way i look now. i can accept all the changes except my stomach. i've lost a lot of the baby weight but gained way too much. the only way to get your tummy tight/flat again is to tone the muscles. losing the weight isn't enough on its own. try to do some gentle toning exercises and slowly increase what you can do. with the weight off, it should be easier for you. hang in there! know that you're not alone b/c i am going through the sam thing

Did you have a regular birth or C-section? For a regular birth, I'd say time like the previous poster said. For a C-section it's more complicated because those muscles have been cut through and they may never be the same. No matter how much weight I lost or what I did, I still couldn't get my little flat tummy back.

Honey I hear your pain. I was a freak about my belly! After four kids, Im still a freak about it. It takes about a year for it to go back to normal. Some women dont get their tight belly back at all. Each woman is different. I eat right and take Acai berry every day. I feel that it has helped me tons! Im also an active person. Im an at home mom, but we have horses and other animals that keep us busy. Not to mention my four kids and all their activities...Im always on the move.

Just give yourself some more time. Do some easy stomach exercises, no crunches tho. They are too hard on your delicate tummy right now. Hold in your tummy for a few seconds at a time then relax it. Do this numerous times a day and see how that works for you. Also, did you have a pooch before hand? Or did you have a flat tummy? It all depends on your before baby muscles. Good luck, be patient.
