castor oil is a no no it can make you go into labor but it can also make your baby go poo in the womb which can get into the babys lungs and cause infections

I see that most people suggested spicy foods, nipple stimulations, herbal tea and even castor oil.Use caution when trying any of these natural methods to begin your labor, particularly herbs and nipple stimulation. The uterus can become hyperstimulated, meaning that it'll get too little rest between contractions. This can cause the baby to receive less oxygen, resulting in fetal heart rate slowing. Before trying any of these techniques, you should discuss them with your practitioner.

Yes baby will come when he or she is ready, but they do say sex helps naturally inducing labor! I am sure you've heard this many times by now. I can't say I've been in your situation as my two were both early. With my second I had the flu just before she was born, I had some nasty coughing fits with it which I think may have had something to do with bringing on labour and her coming 8 days early. All the best, I'm sure it won't be too much longer now-

As a Massage Therapist I have applied Juniper oil to my oils & rubbed under clients feet and back. In most cases labor had started in less than 24 hours. I have 5 kids, and found taking Raspberry leaf tea 10 weeks before labor prepared uterus for labor...in all cases i have never torn while giving labor.

Vibrations in foot spa significally helped with naturally inducing my labor after it had stopped for a few hours.

My daughter was over due and I tried everything sex, pineapple, walking, castor oil, nipple stimulation, pressure points, driving down bumpy roads, and sitting on the washer during spin cycle and nothing worked. I believe all of these things will only work if your body and baby is ready.

I was almost two weeks overdue - tried everything - sex, spicy food (made me sick), pineapple, and walking - nothing worked. One friend suggested drinking fish oil, but that sounded crazy and my doctor agreed. I finally refused to leave my doctors office until she agreed to medically induce me but it still took 4 days in the hospital for it work. The best bet and safest way is just to wait.

My midwife told me to take 2 primrose oil tablets by mouth and insert one tablet as close to your cervix as possible before you go to sleep. Do this everyday. It didn't help me, I was 6 days overdue, but maybe it will work for you.

I know and feel for you, you could try and take some cod liver oil and a walk. Don't ask, I have no idea why it works.......but I know several people who have done it as a method of naturally inducing labor, including my sister. Good luck!

my consultant advised me to eat fresh pineapple, and liquorise. They both worked the following morning and my labour was very quick, got to delivery suite at 6, had George by 6.30, no painrelief, no stitches....

how much are you overdue??? my mother would take a little milk of magnesia...to make her go...or a ride over the railroad tracks...if it goes too long...you need to make sure there is nothing wrong..if it goes too long....they give you some stuff in your veins...I always had to have it..not to induce me...but to get my uterus to contract..I didnt have a natural thing going....it always made me hurt much m ore and each baby I had 5 ...I had natural...when I had them...there was no pain meds except for the shot in the rear end...that was it....they said it was best for the baby...and the mother that we recouped better...and I think we did...after one of my shortest labors....3 hrs....and all my babies were posterior...facing the wrong way ...not breech...I had to turn harder to get the baby to turn...it was a night mare...but then had to be cut becuz I was small and the heads of my babies were big...that was the only one I didnt have to have the stuff for....but after i had him in england on a military base...everyone left the room and left me in the delivery room...they gave the baby to my husband and everyone left...I looked around and then a black woman came by and looked at me and said hey get up off the delivery bed and go to your room..well, I didnt know where my room was...I tried to turn myself around and sit up and then everything fell...where my stomach was...so the black nurse came into the room to grab me as I almost fell off the bed...and she said to me....wow..she never saw anyone go so white...so she helped me off the table and then helped me walk to my bed...that was not a good thing..that was my 4th baby...I was out of it....after all that work and being cut etc...and then everyone leaving me and I had to take care of myself...that was crazy....women die having babies or even after.....dont let anyone treat you bad....I only say that because we feel vulnerable..know everything...all you can know and that way you are in charge....I found out that I was on some kind of plan....with the base in england...no one told me...to see how fast a mother would recover if she got off the table and walked to her bed...well, that would hve been nice to know....so knowledge is power....if you want to know something....read up on it...you know...

Walking; Sex; Standing in a shower so the nozzle provides light stimulation to your nipples; check your local area - there is always some restaurant that serves a certain food that many women will insist puts them in labor!!

Good luck! I had to be induced (I was a week overdue) and as soon as they broke my water, labor progressed rapidly and we had our daughter 6 hrs after admission!!!

Provided your doctor says there is nothing wrong, walk, move and walk some more! (Mom of 3, one on time, one 4 wqeeks early, 1 5 weeks late! They all come in their own time!)

1/4 cup of Castor Oil (laxative isle at the store) in a glass of Orange Juice. It tastes horrible but is guaranteed to get the baby out. Just a little warning it speeds up everything! The labor is super short which means in most cases you will not have time for drugs. My sister did it and from first major contraction to delivery was 2 hours. I did it and from first major contraction to delivery was 3 hours.

HI, I was told raspberry. Raspberry anything. Real fruit or anything flavored raspberry.

Not sure if it worked for me or not but my daughter who is 8 now was late and I had her within two days of beginning to eat and drink this flavor. Maybe coinsidence or maybe not.

The only natural ways I know are lots of walking, or lots of sex. Both of those things truly do help dilate your cervix, which helps bring on the baby!! Its hard to get your man to have sex at that stage tho because they dont wanna "poke" the baby.

go down a really bumpy road! :) and of course sex is always great :) red tea (raspberry tea) walking can be great but my doc told me that if u walk too much it can actually do the opposite.. it can strengthen your placenta and make it harder for your water to break.

As a Massage Therapist I have applied Juniper Oil to my oils & massaged it under clients feet as well as their back. In less than 24 hours my overdue clients were in labour. To restart contractions I have put my feet into a foot massager & the vibrations under my feet started them off again, it was awesome!. I have 5 children, & 2 of them being water births was by far the best births.

I have used raspberry leaf tea that comes in loose leaf form, you can really only get it from the health food store, raspberry flavored tea from the store doesn't work it has to be raspberry leaf tea. It helps after baby too to get your uterus back in shape it help keep your uterus contracting to go back to normal size quicker. They say sex and sperm works too.

my baby was five days overdue. I walked everyday, but what finally did it (I think) was having my ob check my cervix. It was pretty painful but I went into labor 12hrs later.

Well my darling I think long moderate walks prepares the womb and makes the event take place if not on time then faster than sitting and waiting. ASK YOUR PHYSICIAN about getting your feet massaged. From what I've been told there's an exact pressure point at the bottom of every woman's feet that when massaged deep enough enduces labour. But please, do ask a licensed OBGYN. I'm almost certain it's safe but I'm NOT a physician of any sort.

Good luck and remember that for every day a baby is overdue he/she puts on weight daily (I think it's a pound a day :-/ ). So use wisdom by seeking professional help.

So I say sex cuz I went into labour the next day 12hrs and the baby was out but then again I was havin sex during my whole prenancy. Then castor oil helped push it along but not a lot cuz u can get dehydrated very easily so 2drops of castor oil wit hot tea is great it helps push along the contractions.. Good luck darling hope the baby comes soon

The midwives used to use castor oil in orange juice to get things started but i would not do that for your first child. It did get me started with my third and as i have long labours and then had to have a hormone given to keep the labours going of all three of mine i thought that was a good result.
