He scratches/ plays w his rear while in bathroom or bed or when alone and then wipes it on things.. I found out bc we would see where he wiped it and smell/see poop still on his fingers.. We have explained jow unsafe and gross it is and tried to talk to him about why he is doing it but he just says he doesnt know. I am at my wits end and dont know what to do.

Thank you. I will have him checked for worms asap. I have talked to him about washing his hands or using a wet wipe or something instead of his hand. He also has had to clean up his mess everytime, and at the time he whines about having to do it but then does it again next time.

I thought the same as Jodi check him out for worms as this would cause his back side to itch. If Ok then the next time you see him do this give him a cloth to clean off the walls or make him strip his bed to wash it. Every time he does it make him clean it and then tell him how much easier it would be if he used a bit of tissue to wipe himself or washed his hands rather than wiped his fingers on the wall.

Have you checked whether he may have worms? He may need to be treated.
