Help wanted: 5 yr old boy still pooping pants

I am going through the same thing and I am so frustrated. My 5 year old daughter constantly poops her pants. She goes several times a day. I no longer change her and she goes again. I no longer go out the door or into a store and she is poops her pants. She is constant throughout the day. I have tried everything you have tried and nothing works. I keep telling her that she will not get to start kindergarten if she keeps doing it. She keeps telling me she will stop and be a big girl. She doesn't stop. The doctor said she has Encopresis and that is why she has the problem. I don't think that is the problem. I think it is something else because my 7 year old also has been diagnosed with Encopresis and his symptoms are completely opposite of hers. If you find out anything, please let me know. I just do not know what to do anymore. Thank you.

I am having a similar problem. Our daughter will be 5 this summer and has gone poo in the toilet and we have always helped wipe her. I have lived with my husband since September so me being here is not a change, we got married a month ago, and that is the only "change", but we didn't have a wedding or anything, just got married so it's not like her lifestyle has changed any. But for the past couple of weeks she poos her pants everyday. And it's not just a skid mark or maybe a fart gone bad, but full out poo in her underwear. I've tried telling her how disgusting it is and how it's going to make her sick because she doesn't say anything all day long and just leaves it sitting in her panties. I find out at bath time when I go to take her clothes off and "surprise!!" this is what's in there. I am soooooo frustrated!!!! and don't know what to do. My 10 year old son never did this so I feel like a new mom again :( I am truly at wits end and don't know what to do....take away privagles?? we tried that to no avail. Trying to tell her WHY its not good for her to do that. nothing. Make her clean her panties herself??? I don't know....

i only just got my 4 1/2 son out of nappies.. and it was simple if peed his bed he would take the sheets off and put them in washing machine. and if he pooed in his underwear he would have to empty the poo into the toilet and then scrub his underwear (even if no poo on them) its a bit off a hassle but i found it would perfectly.. does your boy make a face or does something different when he is pooing?? because my son hated pooing on the toilet but i am guessing he didnt enjoy cleaning poo of his underwear more.

My daughter wanted pet fish. She was still in potty train mode when this came up, but it was mostly at night that we were having trouble breaking. We made a paper aquarium with 2 orange gold fish..and every time she used the potty, she got to "feed her fish" by placing a foil star anywhere on the paper aquarium. If she had an accident, she had to take the food away. 1 "food" for peeing 2 "food" for pooping were added/removed each time. We told her once the paper was completely filled, she could have her pet fish. It worked, and within a month at the most she was fully potty trained. Find something you know he wants...and make him work for it by turning potty time into a game and set up the reward system. It will take some time to get into the swing of things, but if it's something he truly wants badly enough, he should catch on and work harder for it. If it's a toy, you could buy it and set it where he can see it, but not reach it until he stops pooping his pants. Or, you can buy stickers or something related to the toy and make a chart. It's all about making it fun. :) I hope this helps!
