Help with a baby who cries when I burp her during feedings!

During feedings with my 2 month old, she cries every time I put her on my shoulder or knee to burp her. It's almost like she acts mad that I took away the bottle when she's still hungry, but could it be something else? It seems to get better once she's eaten a few ounces and is a bit satisfied. Any suggestions?

My kids cry if you stop the feed to burp then if they are still too hungry. I made the feeds longer and they stopped the crying

I read all the responses so I would not repeat anything, but they are all common sense ideas. My oldest son would get so mad when I would try to burp him, I'd just wait till he slowed his drinking down, and then I would burp him. Anyway, if she's still crying after a few ounces and doesn't "want" to burp, just give her the bottle back and try again after a few more ounces.

My daughter did it also, I think she was mad because she wanted to eat, and why was I taking the bottle away. After a few months she stopped, realizing that this is what she had to do to get more food. If you can hang in there. I never liked to use the paci because I didn't want her to need it all the time to stop crying.

If she is crying because the gas bubbles hurt, try giving her some gas relief drops before you feed her (Little Tummys is what I use) this will help her tummy with the gas pains. If she is just mad...I like Jes's idea of the passy.

Good luck

my son cries everytime we used to burp him unless he's content and had enough, instead of burping every ounce do it when she slows her milk right down (about half - 3/4 of the way full) keep at it till you get a burp an then finish the bottle off and burp her again, ive also found tommy tippee bottles a god send he doesnt struggle with his wind or bring up half as much with them also try infacol that worked for us.. good luck x

I'll have to try the paci during burping. She does sometimes take one, so maybe that will distract her. Thanks

My son cries sometimes when I need to burp him too (the bubbles hurt apparently). Distracting him by a walk outside or something bright and flashy helps until I can burp him.

Does she take a pacifier? My now Two year old used to do this, we would just give her her pacifier while burping and it helped.
