High heel shoes and pregnant?

It is okay until a certain month. I read up on it when I was pregnant and it is either the 5th, 6th, or 7th month when it is not good because your ligaments are now more flexible due to the amount relaxin hormone being produced in your body, so you can be more prone to rolling your ankle and falling. plus at that time for me my back was starting to hurt more and they definitely do not help with that! Just be more aware if you must wear them. Also, just a general fact I learned; women who wear high heels frequently have a higher incidence of degenerative joint disease of the knees. This is because they cause a decrease in the normal rotation of the foot, which puts more rotation stress on the knee. This is a good article to read if you prefer to wear them during pregnancy:

I think Chrystal bishop hit the nail on the head. If heels are the norm then wearing them during pregnancy is fine- providing they fit, are safe and are comfortable to wear.
For the first 4 months of my pregnancy, I continued wearing my 4 inch heels as I was a waitress in a themed diner- doing shifts of 8 hours I may add. Now wearing 4 inch heels as a waitress would sound quite a feat itself but regardless, it was a norm and continued whilst I could.

If you normally wear heels while not pregnant than you should be fine continuing to wear them while pregnant. Just keep in mind your center of gravity shifts when you are pregnant so as you get further along you might become wobbly and that might be the time to put them away till after baby.

It ok to wear them but it does put a lot of stress on your back & feet. i say if you are going to wear heels at least make it a low heel at 2 inch max. If you fall it could be harmful to your baby & you don't want to make yourself incredibly uncomfortable either.
