So I'm 30 weeks along and my second child is in a Breech position right now. My OB isn't concerned because I have 6 weeks until they get worried.

But i was wondering if anyone knows any home remedies to help turn a breech baby?

My daughter was breech from 33 weeks on. I tried lots of different home remedies, but nothing worked. I even schedule version to try and turn her a week before my due date. I didn't make it to that scheduled appt., I went into labor first and had a C-section. Good luck!

Swimming, spend 30 minutes a day on all fours rocking back and forth, and the yoga position called "child's pose" may help. Sometimes the baby knows something that we, on the outside, don't know so if you try all that you know to do and it still doesn't turn then trust the wee one inside, it knows best. Additionally, your health care provider can try to manually turn the baby. This is often successful but should be done soon as you want as much room in there as possible! Good luck, and in the end you will meet your sweet baby and all will be well.

I have 4 & all had late turns. My first (now 15) turned at a week late after the hands-&-knees maneuvers. I delivered normally a week later. My second (now 13) went breach on his due date, so I was scheduled for a manual version at a week late. He flipped on is own during the ultrasound & I was induced hours later. My third (now 10) was transverse (sideways) on his due date & WAS manually turned, which wasn't too bad. He was induced several hours later. My fourth (now 3) was fine at the beginning of my induction, but flipped 3 times while I was in labor, all resulting in manual versions. I was able to deliver all four without a C-section (much to my relief).

2 of my kids were breech and stayed that way right through delivery. I was able to deliver them both naturally - 7 lbs and 6 lbs. My OB didn't do anything to turn them as he felt it was best to leave things alone and be prepared for a C section if needed. Be prepared though - if you do deliver breech - for the first few days with my kids anyway - whenever you take their diapers off - their feet naturally go back up by their ears. Gentle stretching of the leg muscles resolved that in a few days with no problems. It actually was kind of comical and not detrimental to the babies at all. GOOD LUCK

I remember reading somewhere that you should lie down with your hips tilted higer than your chest a few times a day. Another one, although it seems a bit cruel, is to place an ice pack where the baby's head is. They don't like the cold so they tend to move to get away from it. I hope this helps. My daughter was transverse up until 30weeks, when she moved head down all of a sudden.

My Gavin also second baby was in the right position till about 35 weeks and then turned. He was then breech till I was 38 weeks along. My OB told me to get down on the floor and start scrubbing.... That seems to be the common thing to do. When on your hands and knees arch your back up and down. Other then that baby is going to do what he or she wants. Gavin did flip back down in time and he was no small baby either. He was 8lbs 6 ounces. They say they don't have much room to move but trust me they make room when and if they want to. Be patient, play with your first on the floor a little more, do some odd chores around the house that might get you in that position but remember to not overdue it. Hope things work out...

acupuncturists have great success with this issue. They do not use needles for this but burn a certain incence on your little toe (don't ask, i don't know) and the baby will flip. Needs to be done before you are too big for baby to easily flip. Call an acupuncurist to check on ideal time frame, I think maybe before 34 weeks but not sure. good luck

Hi Chantalle,

My daughter was head down and she decided that very late in the pregnancy (I believe it was 36 weeks) she was going to turn transverse(sideways) I also did the knees and forearms positions and sure enough 2 weeks later when I went back for my appointment she had turned.

I recommend it, you have nothing to lose!!

Good Luck

I tried spending time on my hands and knees in a cat position. Apparently it allows the baby to float away from our spine and turn. I found it made my wrists sore though.

I didn't know my guy was breech until I was in labour and over 5 cm dialated and needed a section anyway so I guess it didn't work for me :) But I was told he was head down from 28 weeks (they confused the bum and head hard spots) so I didn't do it as religiously as I could have.
