Homemade Baby Food Recipes??

I know someone already mentioned www.wholesomebabyfood.com but I just wanted to recommend it again. I have made all of my son's food ever since he started solids and I referenced that website pretty much every day! It is very helpful and has a LOT of great information and suggestions. And I think you should feed your daughter pureed foods as long as that what she prefers. Here's a tip for meats: Cook some meat, let it cool slightly, and then puree it. Then mix it with mashed potatoes and you have a great meat/potato mixture instead of a weird and runny meat liquid. Good luck!

She still has issues with finger foods and will spit them out if there are chunks! She'll actually gag herself and make herself sick. Maybe I'll try again but she also only has her bottom teeth so far!

at 7 months she can eat finger foods.. cook veg and cut up small.. meats cooked untill tender pottatoes.. pasta dishes.. my daughter has home made purees untill she was 6 months.. then i moved onto just mashed.. then at 7 months everything was cut up.. she is 10 months now and eats litterally anything (not including processed or fatty foods)

Hi! My son is also 7 months and loves the homemade food. I use Annabel Karmel's book "top 100 baby purees" for ideas...whats great of this book is that it gives you all the different stages up to 12 months. It includes fingerfood and gives you the basis of a cheese sauce, veg stock and chicken stock. there is also loads of tips regarding your baby's nutritional needs. I love the book and highly recommend it to anyone!!

Thanks September! We actually just bought the net thing you speak of!! I saw it on the shelf and thought that looks neat and bought it!! I just fell that I would rather know what she's eating and have her eating what we eat! I feel it would be better for her health and maybe a little cheaper!!

Good for you! I make all of my son's food who is 9 months and I would not have it any other way! I use a food processor to blend the foods and he loves it! Some of his favorites are butternut squash, broccoli, carrots, bok Choy, celery, apple sauce, mangos, bananas, grapes, all kinds of melons, kiwi. My son loves fruits and veggies. I think that they tend to be much tastier when they are fresh. Plus who knows how long those jars have been sitting on the shelves. My son also enjoys frozen fruits in those net things that you can buy. I got ours at babies r us. Good luck and enjoy! It’s really easy :)

Just give her whatever you're having as long as she can manage it. A chicken leg with bits of meat on it. Scrambled eggs. Toast. Avocado pieces. A whole peeled apple. Cucumber slices.



She seriously doesn't need purees.

I don't follow any recipes i just steam veggies & put them in a food processor, I add fruit as it is & just add some water to each to get the desired texture of her food.
When i let her have something new though i 1st buy a jar of it just so i don't make a batch of food & then she doesn't like it or have any type of reaction to it.

I waited until making meat though until she was 8 months old b/c i was worried i wouldn't puree it enough, she has some teeth now so its okay to leave a few chunks.
I sometimes just throw leftovers in & give them to her, As long as i didn't use spices/salt/pepper or any type of sauce that might be hard on her stomach.

It's reallly easy & quick too, i just fill ice cube trays & keep her food in freezer bags, which is good usu. 3 months. :) Hope this helps!

What did you do for meats Amber? My daughter has fruit with her cereal in the am, lunch is a meat and veggie and sometimes fruit, then dinner is the same as lunch.

I have been using the Super Baby Food Book and love it!! It is a good resource because if has charts for at what ages you can give the baby what foods...My daughter loves her homemade food and I love knowing what she is eating exactly...
