My son is 7 months old and doesn't want me to feed him baby food anymore, he wants to do it himself, the only problem is he doesn't have any teeth. What kinds of finger foods can I give to him that are homemade that he won't choke on? Something dissovleable preferably.

I was just going to say what September did. Babies can gum A LOT. Cut it up and he will be able to eat it. The puffs are dissolvable too.

It's amazing what one can do with only gums. Our son did not get his first tooth until he was 10 months old. Things that he enjoyed were....fresh steamed veggies of all kinds, you could roast them in the oven as well, small pieces of fresh fruit, tofu, beans of all kinds, small pieces of avocados, cheerios, our son also really liked those Gerber puff things when he first started with finger foods, they didn't last long as he was ready for the good stuff! He's a huge fruit, veggie, tofu and bean boy to this day! :)

He wants to feed himself already? Wow, he's fast. I roasted butternut squash (350 degrees for 45-60 min, cut in half and facing down onto a pan) This was great because it's still sturdy enough to cut into cubes for little fingers to pick up, but once it's in the mouth it just mushes away, so no choking hazard. I always seasoned it with some nutmeg.
Actually, he's 19 months now and I still make it like that, except I don't cook it quite as long so that it's firm enough to practice using a fork.
