How can I bring on labor when im one centimeter dialated

You could have your doctor "scrape" your cervix and then go home and have sex. My husband and I did that with our first child and, coincidence or not, we were in labor within 20 minutes :)

They say what got you into that mess will also help get you out. ;D But I've heard walking regularly help too that's why when someone's cervix is dialated too early they are normally put on bedrest.

I was 27 1/2 weeks pregnant and 1cm dialated when my water broke. I recommend, unless you think since it is your 2nd child dialation will happen a lot quicker, to wait and not try to speed up the process. Your bundle of joy will come when he/she is ready. It took me 28 hours to get from 1cm to 10cm once actual labor started. I was having contractions a week prior to my water breaking. Well I don't know if I helped at all, but all i did was continue to work 8.5 hours a day. Hope I could help.

No one knows the true cause of the onset of labor. Some people recommend sex because your body produces chemicals and the semen also helps contractions which in turn is supposed to help you dilate. Also, people recommend herbal teas and castor oil which I would not recommend. What I did was natural. Just take a few 30 minute to an hour walks a day. Make sure your not raising your heart rate, but let gravity do it's job and the baby will start to drop as well as you starting to dilate. Good Luck!!!

Have sex is what the doctor told me when I was in labor for 10 days and had only dialated one centimeter. I didnt do it though because I felt disgusted down there and my ankle had a cast on it..... What I did instead was one day take a bath after everyone had warned me not to,but I just felt so disgusting

Eat onions. Raw, on hamburgers, pizza or onion rings. This will start contractions while your eating them. If your ready to go the contractions will continue once your done eatting; if not they will stop.

SEX and an orgasam, specifically. it contracts the uterus and that causes, dialation of the cervix. neat- o , huh? and I know sex may be hard when your belly is this big....

but there are other ways to make stuff hapen. Have fun.

I had great luck with evening primrose oil to soften the cervix and several days later blue cohosh : several drops every 4-6 hours in hot water. You should consult your midwife or OB when using this.

even though it may be uncomfortable sex is a natural dialator and also nipple stimulation. I went into full blown labor within 6 hours. I have 4 biological kids.

Honestly, I tried EVERYTHING on the internet (primrose oil, lots of exercise, sex, everything...) for three weeks, while having contractions the whole time and my son was born right on his due date. I don't thing there is really any way to MAKE it happen.

Have sex. My doctor told me to have sex to induce my labor. I did and I was in labor the next morning. Also walking helps to further dilate the cervix. Good luck.

I took long walks with all three. My first two I had sex in the afternoon and they were born that night ... lol! My last one was early ..but born after we had a pool party and I ran around all day after 12 kids !!!

drink apple juice, there is something in the enzymes that can help induce labor.......has I not personally witnessed it i would have NEVER BELIEVED IT ~ It helped a friend of mine. She was at her 40 weeks wasn't doing anything, contractions started one day got all the way to 5 mins apart and completely stopped. She started drinking apple juice and the contractions started again and were really strong, within a matter of a couple hours she was fully dialated and delivered. By the time she started and got to the hospital she was 9 centimeters and ready to go !!! GOOD LUCK !!!

I just had a baby one month ago and was in the same spot. I did WII Fit. I did the hulahooping on it for like 10 minutes and the next day I welcomed my baby into the world. I hope this helps. Good luck

I am 37.5 weeks as well. I feel your pain! Your body is ready when it is ready, but I have known of four women in the last couple of months that all were successful in bringing on labor with reflexology.

Walking is all the advice that I have, I was induced for both of mine because they didn't want to come out. People have said to find a bumpy road and drive down it, but babys will come out when they are ready, or when you have to go in to the hospital to get them out. Good luck!

This is what you do....buy a bottle of castor oil, orange sherbert, and milk. You take half the bottle of oil and mix it with sherbert amd milk to make a shake and down it. Then in four hours mix and drink the other half. You will be in labor I promise. Before you do this though it is very important to have someone there even thou it will be about 8-10 hours maby a little more for you to go into labor. Also do not eat for about 6-8 hours before you do it. Best thing to do is eat a good dinner and when you wake up drink your first shake then wait drink the next one and you will go into labor. I have done this three times and it worked every time. Now while you are waiting for this to work walk as much as you can and do a lot of squatting. Let me know how it works for you.

sex.....and or walking it works - told this information in childbirth classes- I walked around the mall for all three children for hours and went in Labor one that day- other next day and the third walked up and down the hallway- good luck I'm a grandmother now and my girls followed the advice as well not with out laughing .......

I was in the same situation with my second. I tried nipple stimulation from 37 weeks and She was born 38 1/2 weeks. It might have been nature but it could have been the stimulation as it is suppose to mimick the sucking action causing the brain to release the hormone that causes your uterus to contract. One good thing about it is the increased supply of colostrum milk when their born. Hope this helps :-)

True story.If you have an orgasm the muscles start tightening causing the uterus to contract even more.Walking also helps because the movement and the baby puts more pressure on the cervix. There are also those who say bouncing on a trampoline will do it but I would not suggest that one.

this is totally going to sound off the wall but eat some pizza...i have a few friends that ate pizza and then the next day were in labor...i also tried this and when i had my son ate pizza the night before and when i woke up the next morning i lost my mucus plug...later that morning i had another piece of cold pizza and upon eating it within 30 or so mins i was in early labor...dont know if it was coincidence or the pizza...but hey it never hurts to try

When I was a week and a half late with my 1st daughter I went out dancing. I had been doing yard work raking leaves and shoveling dirt and that didn't work but I went dancing and got home 1:15am and 1:30am my water broke. By 3am I was at the hospital with labor contractions coming every 3 minutes. Good luck and enjoy the quiet and sleep while you can.

HI, I know the last few weeks are tiring (I have 4 kids) but if you go into labour yourself it`s better both for you and baby. the recovery time on your body is less if you go naturally. that`s probably not what you wanted to hear. Good luck. hope it`s soon.

i started dialating at 6 o'clock. 2 days before, i wasnt even close to dialation. feels like ur hips are spreading? if u need to potty, do it now, because later, the nurses will tell u its just "pressure on the colon". don't worry. plus, a BM can cause ur water to break, so the toilet carches the mess. if ur water breaks sooner, labor will go faster. if u want an epidural, it will slow ur labor. NEWAY, walk. alot. squat, if u can, but not to the ground, just a little. like ur having a BM. STRETCH. very key, ur body will tighten as the labor progresses, u need to keep ur body as loose as possible. OH! hold ur pushes! when they tell ut to push, act like ur BMing. Breathe. dont push just hold the muscles where they are, thats how u hold the push. if u dont, ur baby will have a cone head, mine did. Episiotomy. Definately a curtosey stitch, plus it saves u from tearing, U HAVE TO ASK FOR IT. GOOD LUCK!! if i missed anything im sorry. dont cuss, u dont need to. God Bless.

I have 4 kids with my pregnancy2-4 iwas the type that would dialate and have contractions for weeks at a time..Walking was my key thing and not just walking around the block ..hard walks..It seeemed to make the contractions worse and then I would dialate more..Walking oh and do squats..Hope it works

The only thing that helped move things along for me was bouncing and balancing while sat down on a birthing ball. I was slow to dialate and was having contractions every 5mins from the start but this did help me when in hospital. I have sworn I am going to get one for next time!!

i have the same problem too,with my second baby.what i did when i had those unbearable contaractions,i just did,some exercise,by just walking&walking,&next thing i know i wanted to go to the toilet,which was by that time the baby was ready to come,so my doc took me in quickly.so good luck with you.

Ah - the last few weeks - they're mental torture!! I was absolutely MASSIVE and at 24 weeks people were saying ' not long now ' - but I had weeks to go - by 35 weeks I was too big to drive my car so had to leave work earlier than expected - people said I'd drop early - HA - two weeks AFTER my due date, after drinking rasberry leaf tea (from Holland and Barrat) eating fresh pineapple, having sex, eating curries, scrubbing floors, cleaning the house, going for walks and all the other advice, they had to induce me - - - and she STILL didnt wanna come out - so they ended up doing a C Section....
So I'm afraid, no matter how frustrating it is - it will happen when it happens - I could only advise not to count the weeks/days/hours - - its only more torture for yourself!
- - - and when it happens - - you'll soon forget all about it - so hey why torture yourself !! Good luck gal!!

My midwife stretched my cervix with both of my kids and I went into labor within 24 hours. It can also be called scraping the membraine. Both sound worse than they feel! The only problem is that a lot of doctors won't do it until you are 39 weeks. Good luck!
