My baby is 5 months old and is still swaddled to sleep. How can I help her get rid of this habit? She is getting too big for blankets. The last thing we tried was the Miracle Blanket, which worked great until she figured out how to get out of it.

Sounds like you need to wean her. It worked great to do it gradually with my son. We did one arm out (1 night), then both arms out (5 nights), then a Halo sleepsack. Good luck!

Put a sheet and or blanket cross ways and tuck it in firmly under mattress so it cant pull loose. The pressure from the blanket helps bubs feel secure, just make sure it cant be pulled loose if you have to roll up some towels and stuff down edge of mattress to pull the blanket extra tight. I use a swaddle sack/blanket made by a company called summer. It comes in different sizes and there is a size for 6 month olds i just bought a bigger size for my 5 month old. It has velcro straps which holds them snug, i love it. Think i bought it from Baby Bunting if thats any help to you, or do a search online there are heaps of wraps out there. i read recently in Sheyne Rowley (the baby whisperer) Dream Baby book that swaddling is a comfort till a baby is 2 years. Check the book out as it has techniques for older babies where you only swaddle their legs or reduce the full swaddle by leaving an arm out. Hope this helps.
