How do I break my 3 year olds temp. It's been sitting on 38+ for the past 18 hours. Have given her melds every 4 hours, wiped her down, tried a shower, given a suppository! Help!

Thank you for explaining that. Im so glad that her temp broke. The diarrhea could be from the suppository or a virus trying to come out.
I hope shes 100% better soon.

I'm from South Africa. Ottees is a cereal. Thanks for taking the time to respond. Her temp finally broke. She is now trying to deal with having diarrhea for the first time. Poor thing.

38-39 isn't too bad. I don't even treat that temp with anything other than a cool, wet washcloth on the forehead... and keep the child hydrated. That temp in and of itself is nothing to worry about. Take note of the other symptoms. The fever is the body's natural defense at fighting things off, so a little fever is actually a good thing.

I have 2 ask where are you from. And what is ottees? Sundays always seem to b the sick days because thats when doctors are'nt in its crazy.

Thanks. She's just eaten some ottees. At least its something. Making she she stays hydrated. If something goes wrong, it always seems to be on a Sunday!

It sounds strange but sometimes u have to wait it out. Just make sure shes drinking lots of fluids. I would call the doctor if it does'nt break soon.
