I have had a number of issues with my son over the last year which has gradually finding he has had some self destructive behavior. On top of try to get through all of that, I have a hard time figuring out if it's a smart mouth or something more, I am scared and concerned and trying to everything I can think of to help him. Don't know which way to turn and becoming very depressed, I need help!

What do you mean by "smart mouth". Every teenager can have a smart mouth here and there, and will continue to use it if you don't nip it in the bud. I guess I am asking for examples, because I don't see having a "smart mouth" as all that unusual. I deal with it differently depending on the situation. Sometimes, I can see it is just a bit of anger and frustration being vented, and isn't hurting anyone, I ask him to go to his room or somewhere else to let off steam.
