She calls my uncle dad aswell as her own dad dad and i dont know why this is they dont look a like or nothing, ive told her several times that my uncle isnt her dad but she wont have none of it. Its weird

Hopefully she grows out of it shes been calling my uncle (more like a brother) dad for the past two years she hasnt copied anybody she is the only one that calls him dad (he has no kids) but i dont know its probly cause he's been in her life much more the past couple of years i dont mind that she calls him dad neither does he its her real dad that has the problem. Guess time will tell. thanks for the comments

I wouldn't worry I had pet names for male relatives when i was young. I use to call one of my grandfather pima. Don't know why all the others i called grandpa. I grew out of it. Yet one of my younger couisins did the same thing. It's weird I'm sure she'll learn and grow out of it. When my dad comes over he normally comes over with my nan. Not thinking i'll say to my partner dad and nanna are here. So when my son expects them he'll say dad and nan. I always refer to him as grandpa when speaking to him though. I also use to call my great aunty mum because my cousin and i were close and i looked up to her and copied her. She'd get upset when I'd call her mum, mum but I didn't know any better at the time I was just copying her. I wouldn't worry too much I'm sure she'll grow out of it.

A lot of children will call any male that they see often Dad, they can also do it for any female that they see often and call them Mum. They really don't understand the meaning behind the names we give people. She will stop just as fast as she started though.
