My son will be 4 in a few days. He screams and cries like someone is trying to kill him if he doesn't get his own way. I tell him no he screams, I tell him to sit in time out he screams, I tell him to apologize for something he screams... It is getting VERY annoying! No matter what I try he screams and cries until I just ignore him and walk away or give in. What do I do??? :(

The major issue is like in walmart, well Shainne christmas is a month away you cant get any toys today, he FREAKS! He doesnt get the point of maybe later... Idk what else to do! I did the ignoring thing this morning and it worked... So I think I am gonna stick to that and see how well he does... UGH! lol.

I agree with Tara everytime you give in he wins and you are only prolonging the screaming because he knows it will work. So once you say no you have to stick to it and not change your mind, if he's going to scream just walk away and ignore it. My son when he gets in a mood, he's 5 we send him to his room till he's calm.
Because you can't give in anymore my other piece of advice is pick your battles. If you feel like it's a situation where you would normally end up giving in then just don't say no to begin with, you'll still have to say no on occasion but maybes not all the time. You could also say not right now maybe later if it's something he could possibly have later.

Honestly? Stick to your guns, don't give in, and walk away. It will take a while but he will eventually stop.
Both my girls (3 1/2 and 2) have done this and that is what I did - I tried time out, I tried taking away things they wanted, I tried just telling them no and nothing worked until I decided that I had had enough - I started just telling them "no" and "screaming will not get you what you want" and then walking away. It took about a week with my oldest, a little less with my youngest, but now they don't act like that when I tell them they can't have their own way.
