yep, that's right, i said permanent marker. While i was in the shower my 3yr old, apparently, wanted more to eat. so, mr. indepedent got a chair, climbed up onto the counter, and decided to draw on the kitchen cabinets with a BLACK PERMANENT marker. i guess he couldn't find anything he wanted. Yes, i learned my lesson and now remember to put any writing utensils away, and out of reach. Now i just have to get the marker off the cabinets. I have been able to lighten the marks but not get rid of them.

you should look up this product online, it's called razzle dazzle jewlery cleaner. i know it sounds weird but i just came home from Vegas 2 days ago and i bought this stuff because it does so much more than just clean jewlery. one of the things that the guy used to demo it was write permanent marker on the counter...he sprayed it on, let it sit for a second, and then it wiped off clean! It was amazing! Google it, hope you get it off

Mr. Clean Magic erasers work great for a lot of things if that does not work use water and bleach.

If the rubbing alcohol and magic eraser don't work, ask your landlord if you can paint the cabinets.

Rubbing alcohol will take permanent marker off any non porous hard surface. At least - at school alcohol takes permanent marker off of desks, walls, overheads, etc... hopefully it will work on your cabinets! Good luck. Let me know how it turns out! Also, I have had luck coloring over it in dry erase marker and rubbing it off...

Just be careful if it is a stained cabinet.

Yes, this is my advice and then get a touch up stain from the local hardware store if you need it. Murphy's oil soap may help the look also. I have a 3 yrld too. My 5 yrld gets into trouble with him. Double the trouble!!!! GOOD LUCK so, I sympathize with you.

howdy, the best remedy for any ink to be removed, by budding artists is Eucalyptus oil .... it works a treat

Shannon- Its not that im in love eith them, but that we rent so that will definately come out of our deposit. He is my little artist, but he prefers walls, cabinets and such. If he is allowed to write or draw on it, he dosen't want it. lol.

Permanent marker scribbles can normally be removed with alcohol. Unless you buy laboratory markers which are truly permanent, you can use 70% ethanol (rubbing alcohol) to remove it with no problems. It has taken permanent marker out of everything I have tried it on, so I don't think you'll have any problem. And it is so much cheaper than any other option.

If the above ideas don't work try rubbing alcohol, it works on fabric anyway. My daughter went after my new red sofa with a black sharpie a few months ago ARGH!!!!!

try the magic eraser it depends on the type of cabinets you have but those things work on almost everything and you could also try nail polish remover but test it first because it sometimes smears it and that might make it worse

I would try hair spray and a Mr Clean magic eraser...If that didn't work I would look for GooGone... it's an orange oil cleaner, it breaks down paint and glue that has hardened, that might work on the ink.
I can feel your pain, I am so sorry!

If the Magic eraser does not work I have a natural cleaner that worked on leather. It probably work on your cabinets. I use it for cleaning and sanitizing! I love it!

Are you in love with your cabinets? Maybe it's time to update...? If the eraser thing doesn't work, paint them. Boy, I bet you were mad! Don't worry. It'll be really funny in twenty years. Sorry to tease you. Maybe your little artist needs a chalkboard in your bathroom behind the locked door!!
