My son was just prescribed glasses last Thursday (3-18-10). He has been doing ok until this morning when he broke them...bought the strap, but obviously it didn't work too well...
The insurance will only cover one (1) pair a year...what do I do?

odds are there is a warranty on them, usualy 6 months to one year, especaly on kids glasses. My daughter got her first pair at 9 months and we just took her hand away everytime she would grab at them and say " glasses on" she was really good about it for the most part and realised very early on that she could see better with them than without. On a side note I would not use a strap with them, my daughters eye doctor said not to because if they grab the glasses and pull, they can snap back into their face and either hurt the child or break the glasses.

it's very frustrating, but after awhile they do get used to them. lucas got his at 11 months, it took him forever to learn how to leave them alone. but being persistant is the key. you have to make sure you tell him to leave them alone every time he touches them. he may fight and fuss, but eventually, trust me he'll get used to them, and pretty soon he'll be going to get them to put them on in the morning. i think after i finally started getting serious with lucas that it took him 3 weeks to fully become accumstomed to them.
