My son is 6 months old and since the introduction of solids a month ago (he eats them 4 times a day now) and switching birth control pills a couple weeks ago (from the minipill to regular pills as my doc advised) I'm not the milk machine I used to be. I'm just worried about him getting dehydrated in the heat now. He doesn't nurse like he used to (he's more interested in everything else, even in a quiet room) and I've noticed over the last few days his diapers aren't as wet as they used to be. He still has 6-8 wet diapers a day, they're just not very wet. I'd rather not switch to formula if I can help it, but I want to make sure he's getting enough liquids. He's also drinking about 2 oz, if that, of watered down juice a day, but I know he still needs the nutrition from the milk.
