my 5 1/2 month old was 10lb 8oz at birth and now weighs just over 20lbs. ive had him on baby food since 2 months and now he eats 2 stage 2 containers plus 4oz of formula for each meal and sometimes a 6oz bottle inbetween and still seems hungry. what can i do to help fill him up and go longer between feedings? i know whole milk shouldnt be given until 12months but would maybe a little during the day be ok? or is there something else i can give him to make him feel more satisfied?

Well, first of all that is way too much solids for a baby that might not even need solids in the first place. Some baby food (like one jar) once a day would be fine, but the rest of his calories should come from formula.

Eating every 2-3 hours at this age is perfectly normal. PLEASE do not give him whole milk. It doesn't have the nutrients that his body needs and has the potential to be quite damaging.
