I asked my doctor about teeth grinding and she said that it was fine while they have baby teeth.. He's still getting used to those THINGS in there, and she said they also like the noise and sensation it makes (totally drives me crazy, makes my stomach turn YUCK)

But she said that they get over it eventually.

My dentist told me that sometimes kids do that when there is a breathing issue, like allergies or snoring and they are just trying to adjust. He said he is frequently the one to discover it!!

Hi i still grind my teeth and im 23 dont worry too much while he still has baby teeth but if after his big teeth come through and he's still doin it then take him to the dentist and ask for a gum shield to be made to fit his teeth so when he does grind them he wont file his teeth down, iv been grinding my teeth for years since probably his age and it wasnt till my friend who is a dental nurse told me to see a dentist and ask for a gum sheild that i realised actually how much damage it can do but only once his last set have come through mine are slightly riged at the ends but the gum shield works wonders at night hope that helps

My son is 6 and he still grinds his teeth as well. Our Dentist rocks, I trust him 100% and he said that it's not doing any damage to his teeth and that he'll most likely stop on his own.

My son is 6 and still grinds his teeth. Our dentist is a very close family friend and would never give us bad advice. He said that kids do that as a way to help their baby teeth come out and their adult teeth work their way through the gums. He said it would not cauase any problems.

My daughter grinds her teeth when she sleeps. She used to do it when she was young (she's now 8) and she just quit by herself.
