Hi my Son has been Grinding his teeth since he was about one he is now 31/2. My son was a late bloomer with his talking. I went to my doctor and dentist about it they told me it starts with Frustration then it turns in to habbit. They told me not to worry about it untill he get his adult teeth then they would try to correct it with a bit wing.

I asked my doctor about teeth grinding and she said that it was fine while they have baby teeth.. He's still getting used to those THINGS in there, and she said they also like the noise and sensation it makes (totally drives me crazy, makes my stomach turn YUCK)
But she said that they get over it eventually.

Hi i still grind my teeth and im 23 dont worry too much while he still has baby teeth but if after his big teeth come through and he's still doin it then take him to the dentist and ask for a gum shield to be made to fit his teeth so when he does grind them he wont file his teeth down, iv been grinding my teeth for years since probably his age and it wasnt till my friend who is a dental nurse told me to see a dentist and ask for a gum sheild that i realised actually how much damage it can do but only once his last set have come through mine are slightly riged at the ends but the gum shield works wonders at night hope that helps

My son is 6 and still grinds his teeth. Our dentist is a very close family friend and would never give us bad advice. He said that kids do that as a way to help their baby teeth come out and their adult teeth work their way through the gums. He said it would not cauase any problems.
