Since you asked I am going to speak from personal experience. When your so angry you forget what it is like to be happy. I hope medication can help bring her out of this slump and back to raw feelings. Because when you can feeel how upset you are you will want change and find happiness. I think everyone in the world is striving for happiness. That is why there are so many dependencies, on everything from food to alcohol to shopping everyone is trying to fill a void. We have to simplify and get back to the basics nature, family, and friends. Productive, enriching activities are so helpful. I moved to NY and changed my life with life's simplest most beautiful things that I could rely on no matter what. Like, green grass. The smell of fresh cut grass. Beautiful blue skies and starry nights. I came to realize I HAD to appreciate things because they were the only things I could rely on in a time of upheaval in my life. Family as well, and GREAT friends (here in NY) that I could tell even the most ridiculous things to no matter how little sense they made. Good feeling music was also huge in my recovery. As for the ADHD here is my take on ADHD. I think in todays society we all have this. Way back when (in the good ol days) it took all day to put dinner on the table at night. This was lifes purpose. We had to grow and harvest.Wash our clothes in the brook. These activites consumed us. Today we push a button on the washer, microwave etc.. We dont have to entertain ourselves with instruments or stories we turn on the tv or radio or pick up a book. From my spiritual perspective I think we invented these things to have more time to dig deeper inside, to grow spiritually, to evolve into our highest beings.... We have forgotten this part tho and are searching to fill this with anything and everything. Meditation and visualization are excellent. Yoga is terrific. These are good for your soul. This brings true happiness -in time. Reiki could help give her back some life energy she has lost. You could read about indigo children if you find any of this interesting. Thinking about all you ladies.

My daughter is 16 and she has been diagnosed with ADHD and Bi Polar and a Manic depressant. So yes I have a lot to deal with. I just had to put her in a hospital so they can get her meds right before she hurt herself or someone else.

Marie.....Thank you so much for your input. I do believe as well, that writing is easier. it definitely helped my daughter tremendously. We would write back and forth to each other almost daily...and it enriched our relationship and enhanced communication and understanding of each other's feelings.

They say personality is 50% genetic and the rest you can work on by positive actions and feedback. Have your child keep a journal you can both read and write in.

Find out why he or she is angry and work on it together. Your child might have some medical issues. Consult with your doctor as well. Nutrition plays a big part of everything and so does exercise. Practice positve thinking and visualization with your child. Go out and enjoy nature the beaches etc. Have your child write his feelings in a journal you can both share. Sometimes it's easier to express things on paper.

How old is your child? I have a 16 year old daughter who spent alot of her years angry. Turns out she was recently diagnosed with ADHD as well as ODD

Tell them to build a bridge and get over it. You should ask the child first why they are angry and explain to them the right way to deal with the anger.
