Per my Pediatrician, there is no NEED to start on solids until A) your baby is watching you like a hawk while you are eating or B) He/She is 12 months....I thought that was CRAZY, but it turned out to be true my son nursed with no interest in food until he was 12 months old!! Made the whole feeding the a LOT easier to wait until he was ready too...good digestion etc. etc. good luck

My older sister is a pediatrician and thinks it is better to wait until 6 months to start solids...so I followed her advice and waited..
I think you need not hurry, they will be eating everything soon enough!

Most Dr's says around 6 months is a good time to start one color solids and they say veggies first. So carrorts, corn, and peas stuff like that!
