My 11 month old has ALWAYS woken up crying. I don't understand why. If she wakes up in my arms, or right next to me, she is just fine. So, I'm wondering if maybe it's anxiety, or maybe just impatience. :)

Well to me there is, my 4month old baby if he wakes up n is still tired he will be realie sqirmy and start crying, but if hes not and hes in a good mood he will wake up happy n playful, so there realie is a big difference and if he has a dream he will start crying a little bit and i just stand there n say shhhhhhh. and touch him so he knows im there and he'll go back to sleep , i hope this helped

Like us everyday is different, some times he wakes up happy, other days he wakes up in a bad mood, and most days he wakes up, not really wanting to wake up, he loves his bed and loves to sleep, but in a good mood. It also depends on if he feels sick, then he will be alittle sucky. Just remember one thing no matter if they wake up in a bad mood, cuz most children are easy to make happy again even if they are still tired. My son does get bad dreams and night terrors and they do not effect him when he wakes. I'll tell you one thing my son will not forget something, if you tell him before he goes down you guys are going to go out or do something, he will remember it when he wakes.

All babies are different and all babies will go through phases of waking up crying, even screaming and phases of waking up and giggling/babbling to themselves. It's all normal.
My baby wakes up crying 90% of the time but occasionally wakes up and just talks to himself.

My daughter is on a great schedule wakes up at 7 the goes back to sleep at 10 sleeps till 12 then goes to sleep for an hour at 3 and then its bed tyme at 8!!! But when i put her to sleep even for a half an hour she wakes up super happy, even when she was sick and we would put her to sleep she wakes up super happy she is just always such a super happy baby and I think that maybe its cuz with her schedule she gets all the sleep she needs!

most of the time my daughter wakes up in a good mood, no matter how long she's been asleep for, occassionally she'll wake up in a grizzly mood but it never takes long for her to get out of it... my trick is to bring the tickle monster out of hiding, she's soon giggling and squealing at me, if that doesn't work she'll sit on the couch with me till she's out of her mood

My kids get cranky when they are sleepy. Once they go to sleep and they wake up they are as happy as they can be and all smiles

My daughter is up and at-em' when she gets enough sleep. I can tell she hasn't sleep well enough or long enough if she's immediately upset about something. She doesn't sleep as well when it's too hot.
Bad dreams traumatize her only briefly, but we'll let her cuddle with us if she gets up like that in the middle of the night,. However she usually isn't as well behaved the next day if that happens.
Having a consistent routine is a great way to help ensure that your child will be in a good mood. But it's not a guarantee! :)

My daughter went through a super grumpy stage. She'd wake up and just be a nightmare for the first 1/2 hour - hour. A friend suggested giving her juice as soon as she got up. It worked! Her blood sugar must have been too low in the mornings. Its like how we need coffee before we can function!

My daughter is 2 and seems to need at least a 2 hour nap if she sleeps 3 hours she wakes with zero crying I will just hear her talking and playing in her crib. 2 hours she will fuss until I go in and get her..somtimes she will go right to playing other times she wants to be held for a bit. Less than 2 hours she always wakes up crying, wants to be held and is unable to tell me what she wants. I can not stress how important routine is. Breakfast at the sames time every morning , same thing with lunch, dinner, nap and bedtime.

It depends on whether he has had enough sleep or not. I can tell if my 2 year old has gotten enough sleep by how he wakes up. If he wakes too soon, he will wake up crying. If he has gotten adequate sleep, he will get up calmly and happily and come find me, or even just play in his room or upstairs. Sometimes I'll hear him talking to his teddy bears on the monitor when he first wakes up, and it is the cutest thing!
If he wakes in the middle of the night for whatever reason - bad dream, just wakes up for some reason, then he does wake up crying and I usually have to go in and settle him down.

if my son, 10 months old, is well rested he wakes up super happy ... all smiles, ready to play and interact. if he is still needing sleep he will wake up fussy and snuggly. if he is struggling with gas or is otherwise uncomfortable, he will wake up whiney and squirmy.

Do they wake grumpy, happy or in a bad mood. Is there a big difference in waking up if it's hot/ cold, they have a bad dream or if they know the routine for the day. please help!!
