I will be 20 weeks on the 21st is it to soon to start doing the babys room? My husband want to start getting everything together..Like the crib and stuff. But i feel its to soon. Witch is funny cause its usually the other way around. So how far into your pregnancy did you start getting the room ready?

I think it depends on your situation. With our first I started buying things during the second trimester. We were mnewly married and didn't have a lot of money, so it was nice to spread out the spending. I don't think i actually set up the room until into my third trimester. We had another three years later and had moved into a new house by then. I got that babies room ready sooner so that my older son (almost 3) could get used to the crib and not try to crawl into it, etc. But it was still mostly hand-me-downs. With our third (who is a tag-along by 9 years) we were doing foster care and already had a room set up with crib, toddler bed, etc for those kids. I was just positive it was going to be the little girl we had wante dfor so long and never thought we'd get, so I bought lots of pink stuff right away. Luckily she was a girl. Especially for your first I would wait until after the first trimester when your greatest risk of miscarriage is past. After that it's all personal choice. though paint smalls in your third trimester can get overwhelming. So either have someone else do it, or do it early. You also don't want to paint too close to your due date. You don't want a new baby sleeping in a room full of paint fumes.

I am 21 weeks pregnant with baby number two, so the shopping is definately a lot less this time. We won't find out for another week if it's a boy or girl, so will do more shopping then. But I would say now is as good of time as any. The sooner you start, the more you can spread out the costs. Starting with the bigger items, crib, dresser, car seat, etc. I wouldn't wait too long, as babies come on their own schedule, not always the one we are planning :) Plus it is nice to have it all done ahead of time and then just sit back and relax when you are feeling huge and tired!

I was about 35 weeks along. I know that's probably a little longer than the typical mother. We had a roommate until about about two months before I was due so after he moved out I was huge and I took my sweet time cleaning his room out and then when that was finally finished we brought all the baby stuff in.

With my first around 30 weeks, but with my second since I was moving my older into a new room and wanted the transition to be smoother I did it earlier. I would definitely say it is easier to do in your 2nd trimester while you still have the energy to do lots of things!

I waited until I found out if I was having a boy or girl......so, around the 20th week is when I started to plan the room.

Our situation was a little different because we were in the process of moving. We started getting the necessities together the month before my due date, and then actually moved to our new place in a new city 2 days after our son was born. We didn't finish his room until afterwards. Then our college classes started back up a week later. TALK ABOUT HECTIC! (and the most painful 2hr car ride of my life).

i am 32 weeks pregnant and we have bought most of the stuff we need but not put it together yet.. will just collect dust.. the crib is arriving 4 weeks before my due date so we will probably start when that arrives getting everything ready. Its nice your husband is keen to get going :) don't see any harm in it if he starts! Might make the time drag though... finished babys room and no baby :)
