Usually they send you home in 24 hrs if no complications...insurance! but you stay longer if you have a c-section because it is a surgery and harder to recover from...good luck!!

The second time around my baby was gaining weight nicely and I was back to normal.

I had c-sections with all 3 of mine and stayed 4 days/3 nights. But I also know some women that had vaginal deliveries and the normal stay with that is 1-2 days.

With DS we checked in Monday morning, had him Monday afternoon via c-section. I got to go home Wednesday afternoon.

With my first. I had her on a Thurs by c-section and we went home on Sunday. With my son, I had him on a Tues by Vbac and we went home on Sunday/Monday after midnight-he had jaundice and we had to wait for a billie blanket to be brought from another hospital from across the state. We refused to stay another night! Didn't matter how I gave birth-either I had to stay to heal or a baby had to stay to heal. LOL

With my 1st, I arrived at the hospital around 3:30am. He was born at 5:59am, and I was released at 1pm the following day... Total stay was about 33.5 hrs.
My 2nd baby was a planned homebirth, so zero hospital time with him!

i was only in for 3 days but i would have been released the next day but they wanted to keep us longer because my little girl had little movement in her right shoulder from the birth. they just wanted to make sure there wasnt anything more wrong with it.

First baby 2days.
Second baby by emergancy c-section,2days aswell.Generally 4day stay after section but i had had enough by day two &left the next morning with consent of the doctor due to my fast recovering.
Funny 16mths later i get a call from the hospital making sure there details were correct that i had a section, and i really went home just 2days later...lol.
Well i got a fright at first but , aleast they didnt ring to say i came home with the wrong baby lmao. With That hospital it would not suprise me.

I went home the same day. I hate hospitals and there were no complications with any of us. Well not entirely true. My son had a long skin tag attached to his thumb. At the end of the skin tag another thumb was growing! It was weird. He got it snipped off though a couple hours after he was born and we all went home. I can not stand staying in hospitals. I refuse to without a good solid reason.
Oh I have 4 kids.

With my first I was admitted at 1.45pm on the Thursday he was born at 3.30pm the same day and released on early discharge Sunday lunchtime. They wanted to keep me in until the Tuesday because he was a month early. With my daughter I was admitted at 2pm on the Monday she was born at 5pm and I was home for lunch on the Wednesday.
In Australia you can be released as early as 6 hrs after delivery provided there are no complications

we went in on a Sunday and sent home on Thursday-had an unexpected section, and they keep you in 3-5 days for sections where we are..
I wish I'd had more help establishing breastfeeding though, as my milk was late to come in, and I ended up with mastitis b/c no one told me I should try to pump or assisted in latching better etc. :( I know NOW for next time though!
