I went thru an emergency c-section due to bleeding for my first kid, second one had the longest pain which is ard 29 hours, started the pain early morning on the 8th at 2am, till the c-section on the 9th, 7am. Third one was the shortest, pre-planned c-section, baby is out in less than 1 hour.

1st - 14 painfull hours then C-section. Painfull because hips would not spread for her to come out no matter how hard see tried.

2nd - automatic C-section because of the 1st

13 hours and then had to move into a c-section. My little man wouldn't budge - his head was bigger than my pelvic bone would allow. They said I could wait another 13 hours to see if any progress but after 13 and only 2 cm...no way. All worked out fine!! I was just ready to meet my son!

I woke up at 5:00 AM when my water broke and my daughter was born at 6:39 AM. I didn't have time for any medications, but it only took about 5 pushes. I barely felt the pain! I'm pregnant with my second and worried it's going to take forever!!!

24 hours including two hours of pushing. All back labor. WIth this one I'm hoping for less time and no back labor.

On technical terms, when you 1st start dilating/effacing by the book you are considered to be in the 1st stage of labor. I started dilating & effacing 1 month before I gave birth. From when the contractions & water breaking it was about 6 hrs until her birth w/ only 5 mins of pushing. I chose the epidural for pain & was 100% satisfied w/ it.

From my first contraction (March 2nd at 1:24 am) to the moment he popped his head (March 4 at 12:45 pm) was 36 hours. Yes ladies... 36 hours! I am a rare case. I had a surgery when I was younger and it created scar tissue that made it hard for me to progress. I labored for 24 hours at home with the support of my husband and best friend. I was at 1cm the ENTIRE time I was home. I finally got some pain killers (newbane - good stuff) about 27 hours in and then an epidural & pitocin about 29 hours in. My doctor says this next baby will likely be a normal labor. My story is VERY rare.

First was 12 hours start to finish - he was born 5 hours after the Dr. broke my water;

Second was born an hour after the Dr broke my water - they said I didn't go into labour, I went from what they call pre-labour to delivery - no contractions, just mild cramping, 10 pushes, voila, went home the next day (Christmas Day!) in time to put the turkey in the oven for our dinner guests...

1st was induced, labored for about 4 hrs, then emergency c-section ... Thank God my husband harassed me enough to get the epidural or they would have had to put me under!

17 months later, the 2nd was a planned c-section... he decided to come 3 weeks early! In labour for 6 hrs before c-section (in the middle of the night!) The scar on my belly is well worth it! 2 beautiful, healthy boys!
