Plain onsies are great! Wether it's hold or cold outside, short sleeve for the hot and long sleeve for the cold, obviously. :) I'd say about 20 of them, depending on how much you do or don't mind doing laundry! Babies spit up a lot and diapers can leak and you could end up going through a few in one day, so def. grab a nice amount!

I also like the zipper up sleep sacks for the nighttime with just a plain short-sleeve onesie underneath. 3 or 4 of these should be good! (You can find these priced VERY cheap if you have a near-by Once Upon a Child, and they usually sell them in GREAT to almost NEW condition. :)... same with the onesies! )

6-8 pairs of socks... though your baby may end up kicking these off, but it does keep their feet warm!

I'd say at least 20+ bibs! Like I mentioned, spit up, drool, ect! You will go through LOTS of these on a daily basis! and def. a good amount of spit-up rags also... ( which you may be able to snag some rags & such from your hospital which can also work great & are a LOT bigger then just plain ol' burp cloths! )

Also, of course everybody get's excited about shopping for the regular baby clothes for their new baby, it's so much fun and they are so adorable! But be warned for about the first 9+ months or so they grow out of them very quickly! and they will also probably end up with lots of stains! Buy as many of these as you'd like, that's completely up to you. :)

Def. the onsies, sacks, bibs & burp clothes & socks.
Enjoy your new arrival, if you have any more questions about anything please let me know and I'd be glad to give you my advice, even tho I'm not expert, just learning from experience like the rest of us! :)

Haha yes that would be great! Though I do see the lack of sleep causing quite a few meltdowns... I LOVE sleeping. :( Luckily my little one has been sleeping through the night since he was very very young, besides his occasional fusses throughout the night and some nights just wanting a little drink. :) Are you expecting a boy or girl?

Aww so you'll have 2 under 2 as well? Ugh I feel for you! I am so nervous, my son will be around 15 months when the new baby arrives!

Hi Kim, thanks for the tips! I do think agree with you that onesies, sacks, burp cloths and socks are a must. I have a 16months old and now another one coming in November. I was really confused when it comes to clothing for my first baby and I just want to make sure I get it right this time round. I definitely agree with you on babies outgrowing their clothes quickly. They are growing like weeds. hahaha!

Well sure, the baby will need clothes, but that's what everyone likes to buy. I'm sure you'll get plenty.

Thanks Katherine for the response. I am trying to get my baby's wardrobe ready for her arrival this coming November and I am sort of confused as to how many pieces of clothing and what kind I need to buy for her. My mom told me to get dozens of tops and bottoms but I think that's a little too many, haha.

Are you having a shower? Onesies with the rollover hand things so they can't scratch themselves are good. But you want to spend money on diapers, wipes and bottles. Or do you plan on breastfeeding? Mattress pad, burp clothes, boppy pillow, Mylicon (for gas) Tylenol, Ibuprofen, as far as clothes they really aren't as important as these other things. You want to get a mesh bumper. Towels bath tub, so many things!
