Every single night, except for the rare occasion we eat out, or occasionally if there is a sporting or school commitment, we may eat separately. We even eat breakfast and lunch at the dining table, although these meals are not always together. I believe at the very least it is important to sit together for our evening meal. It gives us an avenue for communication, and we have a great laugh over dinner as a family, we catch up on the day....we connect.

And yes, we all eat the same meal. We always have. Even when the kids were toddlers, it was a variation of the same meal.

We notice a very big difference in the children when we sit and eat with them and when I feed them and then try to clean while they are 'busy'. We love to chat about the food, what we did that day and what events are coming up for all of us - we just aren't able to do this when we don't make the time to eat together. realistically dinner is 6 times a week but breakfast and lunch could happen more regularly

We eat dinner together as a family every night of the week. On the odd occasion our oldest son may be away at a sleepover.

It's a struggle to my son 3 1/2 years to eat any vegies at all, he has actually refusing to eat breakfast at the moment. Every day just turns into a battle, forcing him may make him sick and that's the last thing I want to happen. Help!! any ideas are greatly appreciated.

we sit down to a meal between 5 to 6 times a week it just depends on what every ones activities are and it is hard most the time as there are 5 of us there is one that has to have a dairy free diet another that cant have herbs or skins or curry or hot and spicy things one that doesnt like eggs so it is very hard at times on choosing what every one can eat the same at meal times!

We sit down every meal together, because we use to not own a table in our condo, nor have enough room, and so now we really value our dining room table, it makes time so special!!!!

Well we usually only have 2 days a week where we all are here together. So we try to sit down together those nights.

My husband works three nights a week and we also do not have a kitchen table so we rare;y get to sit down together and eat. We are typically eating after the kids eat since we almost always have to make two different meals. My 2 1/2 year old is extremely picky. Sometimes I even have to make a third meal becasue she wont eat what I give her.

We used to sit in the loungeroom and eat until Logan got old enough to sit in the high chair and have dinner with us. So now we have to sit at the table every night (boooo)

We sit down together every night plus lunch on the weekends. My husband and I usually eat one thing and the kids eat another because no matter what I try they refuse to eat what we eat. It gets frustrating to say the least but at least we are sitting down together!

We maybe sit down twice a week (if we are lucky) to a meal we all will eat as a family. I'm a divorced mom of three kids and the daily challenge is to find something quick and nutritious that they will all eat instead of running "Mom's Diner" and catering to each individual at different times! I would love to be able to plan ahead, based on their likes/dislikes, and just have meals together as a family!! :)

I try to have the family sit down every night of the week. If my husband isn't here it's me and the kids. I also try to have everyone present (i.e. not reading or on the computer) for every meal and I also try to keep everyone at the table until we are all done eating. NOT an easy task! Why is that so hard?

Every night, though with 2 1/2 year old twins, there is some times more managing than eating going on.

Sitting down is a whole family is a rare thing in our house. My youngest is 5 and won't eat anything any of the stuff we do and for fear of him not eating at all I give in and let him eat the things I know he shouldn't. I would love some help with meal planning and healthy eating for my family I just not sure where to start.

Wish I could respond as much as others, but honestly, 3 times a week. I've had to change my eating habits due to a recent diagnosis. Its very hard to get my 2 kids onboard, but I keep trying!

Trying to move to sitting down together. Currently, we eat at different times because of pickiness and the intensity of our 5 yo's energy. Sitting down isn't really his thing.

Technically never, the kids sit around the coffee table and we sit on the couch, so i guess we only sit at the dining room table for special occasions.

There is five of us in the family and we all sit down as a family 7 days a week. Weather we are eating at home or at a restaurant we all sit together at a table. My girls love to chit chat when we all sit down and I allow that as long as their talking don't get out of hand. Sitting down all together for dinner is so important as this give the girls and I connect together.

We sit down to eat every night of the week, whether it's a proper cooked meal or a naughty take out, we eat as a family...although we are trying to eat at the dinner table rather than huddled around the TV!
