She doesn't fall a sleep while nursing. She just doesn't nurse as long as my other one did. I take both of them to the Dr. on wed.

Does she fall asleep at your breast when she should be eating? Some babies need to be kept awake in order to feed fully. You may have to jiggle her a little or play with her feet to keep her awake. How often are you seeing the pediatrician, or baby nurse? If she is gaining enough weight to keep them happy, she is probably doing just fine. If they are concerned about her rate of growth, you may want to wake her to feed just before you go to bed, or if you can, wake up about 1/2 way through your normal sleep time and wake her to feed. She is due for a growth spurt within the next couple of weeks, if I remember correctly ( my youngest is 8 years old now!) and she will be eating a lot more and more often just before it starts. You can try moving up her feeding times so they are 15 or 20 minutes closer together, and that will add another feeding or two everyday.

Sounds like you are nursing her enough, some babies just don't nurse very long. As long as she is having several wet diapers a day (say like 6 or more), she is getting plenty. Just watch her weight gain too... ya know, just make sure she is not losing weight, which her ped will notice.

Hi Shandy...Lucky you!!!! Well me son feeds every 3 hours and has about 7oz every feeding. Every child is different. Last night he finally slept the night....10 hours I was in heaven. He usually feeds every 3-4 hours during the day and then at night on an interval of about 6-7 hours always 7 oz.
