HOW MUCH WEIGHT DID EVERYONE PUT ON WHEN PREGNANT and IF SO HOW DID U LOSE IT??

MOST HELPFUL POSTS

[deleted account]

Hi i weighed 60kg when i fell pregnant, i am 5'8" tall, at the end of labour i weighed 85kg, ui put on 25kg all together. The day after i gave birth i weighed myself and was 78kg (i lost 7kg, bubby was 4.5kg ) I now weigh 72kg still, and my bubby is almost 10mo.

All this talk about Breast feeding and losing weight quickly i think is BS (sorry bout the language) I think it only works for certain ppl. I eat healthy, i cannot excersice because of a hip injury, (but i did from the time bub was 6weeks up untill he was eight mths, when i quit feeding). and i have only lost 6kg, i am a natuirally thin person so for me not to lose weight is something i dont understand. i have tried everything.

i gained 60 with first, 19 with second and 60 with third.  Weight loss is finding a diet that works best with your body.  Eating for your blood type. drink lots of water to fluss out your system,  have everything you want in moderation. As you work on being active and Fit.  Yoga, and stretching. Low weight/ high rep. weightlifting,( I am up to 2 12 pound weights). I play catch with a 6 pound ball with my 6 and 8 year old  boys. The resistance is good and makes us all strong.  I dont focus on the numbers on a scale,  i want to be strong and give my children a run for their money. My oldest son has been on one 4 mile run and keeps pace with me really i keep pace with him he now has a faster mile time than me.  Have activity in everyday, turn on the radio and dance with your kids. Use your kids as resistance. Play and have fun. It takes time for your body to create life. It also takes time to reverse

I'm 35 weeks pregnant and have already gained about 42 lbs. I plan on breastfeeding, which is one of the easiest ways to lose the weight. It actually makes your uterus shink faster. Not to mention, it's incredibly healty for the baby

i gained almost 60 pounds with my first baby, I lost about 20 between eating right and breast feeding after I had her. A few yrs later I saw that I still had the weight and with working out not fitting into my time I tried something I said I would never do. Solo Slim, a pill that you take once a day, I even asked my mid wife and she said it was alright while breast feeding. You can find it on the internet or in some store locations.

Solo Slim I lost 42 pounds within almost 3 months. No side effects or jitters and i still was able to eat whatever i felt like. I also walked alot. I hope that helps.

I put on about 55 pounds with Opal Jane (so I weighed 208 when she was born)I didn't do a whole lot in the first 6 months after wards.... I rode my bike a little bit and I did some Hoop dancing too. I did breast feed though and when she turned 7 months I was back down to about 175. I just recently started hoop dancing avidly and I have lost like 5 pounds instantly and now I"m really starting to get tight around the mid section again while dancing, having fun, and feeling sexy. SO google Hoopnotica and check out what i'm talking about. Also Pilates is REALLY good too. If you develop your core strength the rest will follow sister. Just do something fun....I like hooping as well because Opal LOVES to watch her mommy hoop on a sunny day in the park with the music blasting out the car.

Good Luck! :)

I gained 35 pounds (Pre-pregnancy weight 142, I'm 5'9").  When my son was 6 weeks old, I was 5 lbs over my pre-pregnancy weight.  By the time my son was 3 months old, I was at my pre-pregnancy weight.  By the time he was 12 months old, I was 5 lbs under my pre-pregnancy weight.  Then I stopped breastfeeding.  He's now almost 16 months old, and I'm currently back to my pre-pregnancy weight, but  the weight hasn't stabilized yet.  :-(

I only gained 8 pounds when I was pregnant with my identical twins.  My doctor had me try everything to gain more weight but nothing worked.  I was glad cause I was big to start with but after I had my boys I lost almost 40 pounds!  Go breast feeding!

I gained 40ish pounds while pregnant, starting at 125lbs (on my doctors very forgiving scale). I started running at about 4 months -- 2 nights a week for 20-30 min with 2 other moms and I was exclusively nursing. I lost all 40 lbs plus an extra 8lbs by the time my baby was 6 months.

I've heard that nursing at 6 months is when the baby takes the most from you -- up to 900 calories a day.

After 14 months I gained a little back. Now I'm pregnant again and gaining like crazy.

I put on about 7 kg , but whilst i was pregnant my gynae put me on a low GI diet to stabilise my sugar levels so when Callumwas born I had lost all the weight plus two kilos> it was very basic, no sugar what so ever and everything white, change to brown e.g. brown rice . wholewheat pasta, brown bread etc.

About 18kg, ie 40lb. My son is 10 months old and I now weigh less than before the pregnancy. I think it was a combination of eating sensibly (not dieting!), lots of walking and breastfeeding!

Hi while I was pregnant I think I gained about 3 kgs. After my girl was born I weighed myself a month later and I was 6ks lighter than when I found out I was preggers. I had gestational diabetes and was on a faily strict diet which became the cause of me losing the weight. It didnt affect my child as she was 8lb or 3.610 kg when she was born

I gained about 22 pounds after my 3th child and lost it all after 3 months. I exercised just after giving birth, but not much. Breast feeding did the most of it. With my other two children it was the same. Now I'm 5 pounds under my pre-pregnancy weight. When I stop breast feeding I will gain it back I think.

I gained 25 lbs and lost it practically right away. I am a nutritionist so I knew what foods to eat/not eat and what exercise to do. Doing cardio is alright but weight training is going to help you a lot more. The muscle that you put on by doing weights will help to burn the fat.

I put on 25 lbs with my son. I lost the weight pretty quickly but I still have yet to tone up certain areas (my tummy)! I ate healthy and worked out with my son (using him as resistance) which helped alot. I am also a nutritionist, so that helps alot.

I stopped counnting after 45lbs, lol. My daughter is now 4mo old and I'm a lb or 2 from my pre-baby weight. I stayed super fit during my pregnancy - cardio (mostly walking), light weightlifting, and tons of yoga..I pretty much started up again as soon as I had enough energy  - short walks and gentle yoga within a couple days of giving birth (I had a natural, uncomplicated birth so didn't have to wait to heal much).  Breastfeeding definitely helps too.

I gained almost 70 lbs with my pregnancy.  I also ended up getting tachacardia (where your heart beats too fast) so I was taken off of work and put on rest.  My daughter will be four months old next week and I am happy to say I only have 11 pounds left to go to my normal weight!!  I breastfeed, but I also work out 4-5 days a week and eat healthy.  I only workout about an hour-but 3 days a week a walk/run 5 miles, which helps tremendously!!  Just remember that it takes time and to not rush - it will come off.

It's hard to say exactly how much I gained with my pregnancy.  I miscariied at 3 months then became pregnant again about a month later.  I tend to lump ALL of the baby weight together.  I weighed 118 pre-preganancy and weighed in at 170 when I had my son.  So about 52 lbs overall?  I expected to weigh a lot less after I had him, but i DIDN"T!  I breastfed for 10 months and still weighed in at 153 by the end of it.  I worked out and dieted sporadically for a few years after that, and eventually decided the weight HAD to come off.  I found a friend to go on daily walks with and eventually moved into apartments that had an elliptical.  THAT has been my little weight loss secret!!  I started doing anywhere from an hour to an hour and a half of cardio every day and now I'm down to 115.  Oh yeah, and I don't drink much water, addicted to cokes...so I switched to diet.  I know it's not healthy, but at least it's 0 calories.  I haven't cut out sweets or anything, just don't snack much.  So in my opinion, excercise works best...

[deleted account]

I gained 76 pounds with each pregnacy. I started at size one and ended up a 14 16. My kids are 18 months apart. I had only lost 20 and then I got pregnant again...lol

I got down to size 7 but could not get any smaller until recently joining Lindora. I am now a size 3. It is the best program and they have great sweets:)  I hope that helps.

My first pregnancy (I was 19) I gained 70 pounds.  It took me 4 years to get back to pre-prego weight, 170 pounds.  Then I got preg. with #2.  I gained 90 this time!!  I went to my primary doctor because I was devastated.  He prescribed a medication called phentramine.  So far with diet and exercise I have lost 20 pounds and I have been on it for 3 weeks.  Good luck!

Oh, I already don't like you if you lost all 65 pounds! I gained 45pounds and 31 of it came off within like 10 days and then more came off but I am stuck with 9 pounds that won't budge! I wasn't able to nurse after one month so I think that is my problem with this clingy 9 pounds! I am only 5 foot 4, so it shows. I have to get back into my clothes and this is driving me insane! I feel like my baby, who I absolutely adore, is not seeing the real me and that bothers me. Any suggestions?

I only weighed 98lbs when I got preg with my first I gained right at 100lbs with her alot of it was from toxemia but I did not get rid of it all I lost 70 of it by eating right and playing on a ball team for excercise, with the rest I gained 7-14 lbs (i have 6 children)

I am heavier now thanks to thyroid disease than I ever was during or after any of my pregnancies but I believe in doing cardio everyday or at least 3 days a week for 45 minutes, some weight training will also help you get rid of weight you need lean muscle to help burn fat. We also stay away from red meat! I love good steak but only every once in a while and the rare the easier to digest! (this helpde me get rid of 55 extra lbs)
