I gained 23 pounds, including my baby of 7.5 lbs. I went back to 122 lbs. about three months after giving birth. Breast feeding is the secret.

Have another baby!  My boys are 13 months apart and I weigh less now with a 18 month and 5 month old than I did before the 18 month old was born!  I just don't have time to eat (and when I do it's cold so I usually don't want it!).

Well I gained a nice 97 pounds! I was like 130 pounds when I found out I was pregnant. I haven't lost much of it- I would lose a lot then I would find out I was pregnant again. This happened 4 times. Now that our baby days are over, losing the weight seems more important to me. I don't know how I am going to do it- and know I cannot do it alone. Any suggestions that are doable with a VERY busy schedule and lifestyle???

Yikes! I gained 50lbs! However, I breast fed my boy and, just as my MD assured me, I lost it all.  The saying 9 months on 9 months off was pretty accurate for me. Besides, its not really the weight so much as the lack of tone.  Dont worry about lbs just enjoy being prego and afterward... its the last thing you need to worry about.

I put on 28lbs with the 1st, lost all but 5lbs at delivery, put on 3lbs with 2nd and walked out of hospital 20 lbs lighter than beginning weight (lol), put on 10 lbs with 3rd and walked out of the hospital 15 lbs lighter than beginning weight. I started walking everyday and eating healthy foods and lost 10 lbs and a few inches, and now presently pregnant with 4ths. I'm just staying active.

I'm due in two weeks and I've gainned 43lbs.  My doctor keeps telling me it's too much, I might have trouble losing it.  But at this point I can't diet or stop eating.  If you find any good advice on how to lose the weight, I fear I may need some help so let me know. Thanks.

I gained 32 pounds with my first child, who is now 2 years old and 40 with my second, who is 7 weeks old. I lost the weight by taking lots of walks and eating healthy. Drink lots of water it helps. This time around I am finding it hard, especially with the winter months, but as soon as it starts to warm up I will be taking lots of walks.

25 pounds. Breastfed. I actually lost more weight than I put on. I couldn't eat enough food to keep weight on. I was about 15 lb. below my pre-prenancy weight (and had bigger breasts) when my guy was 6 months old. When he was 15 mon. I was back to my normal weight.

First Baby I gained 26 lbs. . I lost it withing a month but I didn't do anything special. I was only 18 so maybe it was my age :).

Second Baby I gained 60lbs! I went to the gym 6 days a week! And ate very healthy!

Third Baby I gained 12 pounds! All I had to do to lose that weight was give birth. But when I went for my 4 week check up I had lost 20 lbs!

I gained about 70lbs with my first child and my doctor never mentioned a thing.  I was young(19) and had always been thin (5'6",115lbs pre pregnancy) and I really thought that I would just pop out a kid and be thin again like many of my friends did.  WRONG!  I lost 30lbs at the hospital when I had her and that was it.  I nursed for 7 months and did not lose a pound, I also worked out at the gym for about an hour every morning for a year - still no weight loss.  I was active despite shin splins and depression due to being fat.  I had a second child 2 1/2 yrs later and gained another 30lbs (a much healthier amount) taking me to a whopping 210lbs pre delivery!  After I gave birth I nursed again for about six months and again no weight loss.  I joined weight watchers and remained active when my son was about 5 months old.  My starting weight was 175lbs.  They taught me so much about how to make the right choices when it came to eating, drinking and exercising.  I only went for 12 weeks (the minimum) and I lost 30lbs that never came back.  I kept up with my healthy eating and I walked with a friend and our babies everyday for a year. (I gave up the gym until my kids were in school full time, it was too stressfull)  These days I still use the knowledge weight watchers gave me when it comes to food, I swapped my monthly Cosmo for Shape, I don't keep junk food in the house and I exercise daily.  I am now 30 and I weigh 128lbs and I am in the best shape of my life!  Bottom line; eat healthy, be active on a regular basis, drink your water and make sure you get enough rest.  It's hard at first but once you start to look and feel better you'll never want to go back!

I gained 60 pounds with both pregnancies due to being on bed rest with both. I lost it quickly though and only have 10 pounds to go to be at my pre-pregnancy weight. Good nutrition and exercising 3-4 times a week helps a lot.

By breastfeeding you look more glowingly and it the fastest way to lose all of your babyfat and looking great... Good Luck...

I gained 65 lbs. with my first child and 55 lbs with my second child. I lost the weight both times within the first 12-16 weeks. Even though the experts say breastfeeding doesn't have much to do with losing the weight, I highly disagree. Even though I lost the weight in numbers both times, things on my body aren't quite back to what they used to be before children.

I gained 50 pounds during my pregnancy! It was crazy. Breastfeeding made it go away really fast. I have a 19 month old and I'm wearing a size 6.  Pilates also helped me get toned again too. I do pilates for 10 minutes every night before bed. really made a difference.

I gained 33 lbs with my first (was over weight to begin with) after her birth i lost what i gained by walk her and eating healthier then over the next 3 years lost more weight because we were trying to have another child. im now pregnant with my second child i lost 21 lbs the first 4 months from morning sickness and lots more active then the last pregnancy and then then the last 3 months ive only gained 3 of those pounds back. I have 2 more months to go the doctors arent worried they said everything is fine since i was slightly overweight to begin. there actualy pround of me for not going over bored on the eating and away from my normal eating to not gain alot of weight. I can wait to see my results after having my child and breastfeeding to see if I can keep up on the weight loss.

i went from being 165 lbs before my first [this is small for me] to 235 after my fourth. then, with baby number 5, i lost down to 218. now, after 6 weeks of nursing, i'm finally under 200lbs for the first time in years!

every pregnancy is different, but the key is to eat healthy foods, never go more than 3 hours without eating, so you don't binge out in hunger, and keep active any way you can. don't stress too much about the numbers on the scale; just concentrate on feeling good and staying happy for your baby.

I gained 30lbs and it was gone 3 weeks after I had my baby. My daughter is now 9 weeks old, and the weight may be gone, but I am nowhere near fitting in to any of my pre-pregnancy clothes and refuse to go shopping just yet. Looking forward to the summer months so we can get out walking!

I was already overweight. My mom had gained a lot of weight when pregnant so I thought I needed to set a goal, and one that was reasonable for me. My goat was no more than 40pounds and I actually gained 34-1/2 pounds, so I was very happy. Most of that came off within the first three weeks after giving birth. I struggled with the last 6 pounds or so "always". My baby is now 16 - 1/2 years old.

I have had six pg and with each one my weight has changed. Generally with each i have lost around 2 stone through having severe morning sickness, so by time baby comes im at my pre pg weight. Once baby comes i generally lose it quite quickly then around 2 months it starts piling back on. But i have an underactive thyroid gland which makes it difficult to lose weight, and after having a baby your thyroid becomes underactive naturally as part of breast feeding, and sometimes it doesn't right itself for years. Also aneamia will cause weight gain, so if your struggling then i think being tested for both of these is a good idea. hope this helps x

I  have had five pregnancies and gained approximately 25-30 pounds with each one.   I was able to take off the weight 3 times following pregnancy rather quickly (within a year) with the diet called Sugar Busters.  This was before low carb diets began to take off and it was rather difficult to find whole wheat items such as wheat pasta and brown rice, etc.  Since the last pregnancy, I've not adhered to this diet, but have followed many of its principles and have eaten much healthier and have begun cooking these items for my entire family.  I also exercise regularly (~30 min./day).  This helps with the added stress of mothering and will help keep me healthy in order to maintain my mothering responsibilities.

I gained 60 lbs with my first baby. I started to work out and my milk supply went down so I stopped. After I was done breastfeeding I started to work out again and lost 40 pounds in 3 months, at which time I found out I was pregnant again. I also gained 60 lbs with my second child but I'm breastfeeding so i don't want to risk losing my milk supply, so I'll be overweight until she is at least a year old. 6 months to go.

[deleted account]

I gained 30 with my daughter & 25 with my son.  Both times I lost more than the gained weight in aprox 2 months by breastfeeding, walking daily & playing the Wii.

I gained about 60 lbs when I was pregnant. I weighed around 125-130 before I was pregnant. It has been 13 months and I am 133 lbs now. I breast fed for the first 2 1/2 months, then I just walked alot, every now and then I use my wii fit, which is AWESOME, and I try to stay away from sodas, unless we go out to eat :)

I only eat 3 meals a day, and I try really hard not to snack (which is hard because I work for a resteraunt) ....Everyone is diff  and you just need to try diff things to see what will work for you :)

[deleted account]

i only gained 6 lbs. i couldn't keep anything down except pb&J's and milk the majority of my pregnancy...i ended up getting my gall bladder removed while 5 months pregnant and that helped. so since i was a bit bigger to begin with my body fed from itself, so when my daughter was born at 6 lbs 10 oz i was smaller than before i was pregnant.

probably not the weight loss tip you were looking for....

I gained 25 lbs both times and lost it all by my 6 week check up. With my second daughter, I actually lost 40 lbs by my six week. Both my girls were aggressive nursers--they fed every 1-2 hours for the first 3 months, then every 3-4 hours the months after. Before you hate me, let me tell you I am NOT thin; I am still 30 lbs overweight for my height, but I was that way before I got pregnant, so I can't blame my kids for it.

I kept putting on Weight I was my biggest after my second girl 205lbs and I am 5 foot 3 inches you do the math I was fat.I breast fed too and gained weight I was super depressed. After I turned 30 I couldn't just drop weight like I used to. I did and tried so many programs and failed at most. I actually was looking for something to do at home to stay home with my kids and what I ended up doing was in the health and nutrition Industry. I got on Herbalife's ultimate program and with the help of my coach I lost over 80lbs in 7 months and wow it was like steppin out of my skin. I don't think I realized how fat I was. I got off 3 meds too. Now I am a coach and help other people get the same results I did. It feels really good to feel good and help others feel good to.I mean who wants to feel aweful all the time like I did

I think it's clear by the responses that all of our bodies are very different. I wained about 40 pounds with my son. I was back at my pre-pregnancy weight within 4 months but I was about 5 lbs over my approriate weight before I got pregnant. It has been 17 months since I had my son and although all the weight is off I still have my tummy buldge. I run and do excersize DVDs and ab exersizes 4-6 times a week as well as generally eat well but the buldge is still there. I guess I just have to hang in there.

56lbs. I was 140lbs at 5'9 before I got pregnant and topped out at 196lbs the day I was admitted. My daughter was 8lbs12oz. The majority came off fast but until I stopped breastfeeding at 6 months I held onto 15lbs. Breastfeeding did not help me at all. I jogged and rode at least two horses a day which helped. I also ate healthier. The last 5 lbs would not budge until my gallbladder decided to give up on me, now I cannot eat a whole lot anymore, so I am forced to starve myself. Not a fun diet but at least I am down to my original weight.

i have always been small and started out my pregnancy being 107lbs... then i lost 7lbs because of hyperemesis! but then when that ended, i got up to 137lbs. my boy is now a little over 4 months old and i am down to about 116lbs. i haven't done anything different except stop snacking like i would when i was pregnant! it is so cold out, so i can't wait for summer so we can do more outside to lose the rest of the weight! eat smart and don't sit on your butt! also, when your baby weighs 17lbs, its hard not to lose some weight walking him around all the time!!!

I gained 45 lbs, but was very lucky to have lost it after about 6-7 months.  I have been very lucky to not have had to do much of anything to lose it, but I do try to portion control.  Unfortunately for me I dried up after 1.5 months, having said that I'm a believer that breastfeeding does not make you lose weight.  I hear exercising with cardio and light weights melts it away.

I became a first time Mom at 38 and was a little worried about loosing the weight. I gained 30lbs and lost it, in about 5 months,  by eating right and breastfeeding.

[deleted account]

Tammy, I gained 78 pounds with my first...his Dad and I separated after a year...depression fixed the weight then. ( I don't recommend this method! ) With my second I gained 40 and we wlk alot! Outside though, not on a treadmill. He is 6 months old now and I have 10 pounds to go. When I am through nursing, the rest will be easier, because I won;t have to eat as much!
