Remember being pregnant isn't an excuse to eat junk food and sugar. Remember to focus on eating protein at every meal and vitamin packed food, along with including a prenatal vitamin and plenty of Omega 3 fatty acid for brain developement!

before i got pregnant i weighed 130lbs. i have had 3 babies in 3 years and was able to get back down to 130. i gained 26lbs with the first. 18lbs with the second and 14lbs with the 3rd. all i did was breastfeed with all of them and the weight came off within the first month. i am still a lil pouchy in the tummy due to the stretched skin, but working on it.....

Being 5'2, my normal weight is 105-110lbs. I am currently weighing in at approx. 140lbs. Yikes! I gained 55lbs during my pregnancy. At that time, I was only 105lbs. I am still working on getting the rest of the weight off, even though my daughter is 13 months old!

I gained 70lbs the first 2 and 60lbs the last one and have just done cardio and sit ups to get it off. But third time around is a little harder. It all comes off though you just have to keep at it.

Gained 25 pounds, breastfeeding took care of most of it and reducing carbohydrate intake. Remember there is ten pounds of weight changes just to your body, uterus gains 2 pounds, breasts 1.5 pounds, baby nine pounds....etc.. it's all on line. So trying to gain around 20-25 is totally healthy and good. And it took around ten months to return to prepregnancy weight.

Well I gained a lot. With the first I gained 65 lbs. and with the second i gained 82 lbs. It was a tad ridiculous. The first one I was back to pre pregnancy weight in no time. After the second it took me about 3 years to get it all off. I finally did it by biking 10 miles a day.

I gained 65 lbs throughout my pregnancy. It has taken me just over a year to get rid of it but I am still about 5 lbs heavier then what I was and im fine with that.

[deleted account]

I gained 35lbs with my first and then about 50 lbs with both my second and third. I lost all of the weight by going to weight watchers and exercising about 5 days a week.

with my oldest child, i went from 115 to 200 and only gain about 25 pounds with my youngest child. I am still working on losing after 7 years. but I also work allot and eat very little.Just keep trying and dont give up. some people it is genetics to keep weight on after having a child is what my doctor told me. he said i am having trouble due to my genetics and where I had an eating disorder before pregnancy. just dont give up on losing the weight.

Hi Crystal, with both my kids I gained about 35 pounds, but after my son was born I fell down the stairs and sprained my ankle, so sitting around eating and nursing was about all I could do, and gained another 25 pounds or so!! Yikes!! With both my kids, between 1-2 years the pounds just started melting off, I'm pretty sure because I was still nursing. With my son I lost over 50 pounds, and became slimmer then I've ever been! So nursing was my solution, but it takes awhile.

I gained 22# on my first and about the same on my second. If you are breastfeeding it helps contract your muscles, even though it hurts like hell! Otherwise, sticking as much as you can to the healthy eating you did while pregnant definitely helps too.

I put on about 25 lbs - - I was back in prepregnancy clothes a few months after my boy was born. I still have to a few lbs to lose and don't quite have my pre-pregnancy body back and am working on it. Honestly, once I go back to work, I'll get back to where I want to be (I eat a lot healthier during when I'm at work then when I'm at home). (I am due back at work in 2 months and probably have 5 lbs left to go).

I gain alot! My first pregnancy I am sure it was at least 40 to 50 lbs. My second pregnancy 5 years later, 60lbs!, and my pregnancy now, only 36lbs. Guess I get better as I get older. I go to the gym as soon as I can after the baby is born. I also have a jogger stroller and love to take long walks. I lower my calorie intake and eat smaller more frequent healthy meals. Breakfast usually is a bowl of fiber rich cereal, low fat milk, cup of coffee, drink plenty of water through the day. Lunch is usually a salad maybe some carrots or pretzels for a snack. Dinner is usually chicken breast (bake do not fry your food), with veggies, Caeasar salad one night, maybe pasta. I work out about 4 nights a week at the gym for one hour with 30 min cardio, 30 min of weights, and 15 min in the hot tub!! Really a good time to relax away from the family. It took me about 6 to 8 months to totally go back to my normal weight. Good Luck!

I gained 35 pounds which is what the doctor had told me to gain because I started out in my pregnancy underweight. I had a c-section so it was def. harder to move around after.. It took me 3 months to lose it all. I only breastfed for a week, and I didn't really do much except didn't go out to eat, and didn't drink pop or have a bunch of sweets.

I got up to 152, started out at 117. I am back down to 117 exactly, and still trying to lose about 5 pounds...

Just eat healthy while you are pregnant.. it's hard sometimes but you really should. And exercise when you can.. at least go walking. It really does help the way you feel about yourself, and your labor. They say exercising helps you when you are in labor becfause your muscles are ready, instead of being very loose from not exercising.

I gained 29 lbs during my pregnancy and lost most of if within the first month after my son was born. I ate better (more healthy) when I was pregnant which helped me manage my weight. I snacked throughout the day on things like pea pods, carrots, nuts and fruit. Cutting alcohol out of my diet was also helpful in keeping my weight down. All of that said, everyone is completely different. I had a friend (who has an amazing shape) that gained 60lbs during her pregnancy. Within a year she was back to her pre-pregnancy weight and looking fantastic.

[deleted account]

I gained 67 lbs! I was mortified, but healthy for the entire pregnancy. When my daughter was 2 weeks old I joined Weight Watchers. They have a program for nursing mothers. I had lost all of the weight by the time my daughter was 9 months old.

I have two girls. A 7 year old and a 3 month old. With my first pregnancy I gained 50 lbs and that was really hard to lose; maybe because I never really tried. I didn't start losing the weight until I got pregnant with my second baby (7 years later) and I think it was because I became very active at work by walking a lot and eating small meal. As for my second baby, I gained about 45 lbs. and with her it just seems like I am losing it quickly. Of course, I have lost to still lose but it's gradual process. I breastfeed, that's always a good thing. I drink a lot of water, constantly and frequently. I heard water burns fat; and I hit the gym whenever I get a chance. I am waiting on spring (for the weather to change) and take my baby for walks on her stroller so that I could pick up my older daughter from school; instead of drivng. I really think, it's about being active and drinking alot of water and of course; watching what you eat. I know it's hard but get yourself into a routine. Start gradually. Good Luck

I've had 4 kids over the last 15 years. The first one I gained 50lbs, the second 40 lbs, third 45 lbs, and the last 45 lbs. I lost the weight with all of them. It takes a LOT of willpower and motivation (like your prepregnancy jeans) You have to make sure you eat a balanced diet and cut out the junk foor and evening snacks(which was hard). Then when you get the ok from the dr you need to get your body moving--even if it's a power walk pushing the stroller--that's great exercise-and a great destresser and mood improver-you're getting fresh air-out of the house and exercise--it takes time-but that's the weight that'll stay off-quickie diets are'nt good and normally people gain it back and then some--good luck to you--i've always referred to myself as an oompa loompa in pregnancy--but it comes off quickly after-especially if you're able to breast feed.

I gained 52 lbs for my 1st pregnancy. As I neared the 200 mark, I was determined not to go over 200, so I actually lost a few pounds at the end of my pregnancy. (Quit fast food). Most came off quickly, although age makes a difference. I was 32. The remaining weight I kept for about a year, then joined Weight Watchers. Then got pregnant again so don't even get me started. Still have baby weight and she's 3!

I gained 28lbs, and mine came off very easily within the first 8 weeks, I was told that they nursing helped. I think a lot of the weight issue comes from genetics(my sister and i are petite and she is actually due with her first child in two weeks and she's only about 125lbs right now), and the type of diet you have before during and after the pregnancy.

I actually gained an addition 10lbs after i had lost all of my "baby weight" because i stayed home with my kids until the youngest was a year old. It was difficult for me to drop that weight, i had to go to the gym 5 days a week for probably four months and reduce my caloric intake. Not fun.

I gained 15-20 lbs. with the 2 kids. It was easy with the first child. I did a lot of cardio exercises and walking is the best. It'll also be good to cut back on carbs and sweets and you'll be back to normal.

I gained 50-60 lbs for each pregnacy (3), and I lost the weight by breastfeeding for 6-7 months, eat healthy, and exercise (Denise Austin Boot Camp, and Power Yoga, and outdoor activities).

I am a mum to a 2year old and a 5 month old. I gained 2 stone with both of my pregnancy's and luckily only had a half a stone left after the babies were born. I ate healthily while I was pregnant but like most pregnant women did indulge a bit. Afterwards I carried on eating healthily and luckily I am pretty much back to what I was before bar a couple of pounds. I don't really get chance to do any exercise but staying active with the kids helps.

My first and only pregnancy-I was 103lbs. and one week before delivering my daughter , I weighed a whopping 177lbs.- The doctor asked me "Can you see your ankles"? I replied no. He said "well neither can I". Since then- my weight has been a yo-yo effect. But I finally managed to loose it after realizing it was ok not to be a size 2. I am a happy size 9 after ballooning to a 14-16. Water , vitamins and cutting back on quick grab to go food helped. Plus- Power Walking and watching blood pressure are a huge factor-since I am now a little older.

I gained a total of 14 pounds (9 during most of my pregnancy, and 5 within the 2 days before I delivered...doc said it was most likely water retention since it came on so fast). Then within 2 months I had lost 40. I've gained a little of that back again (unfortunately - moreso because I wasn't light to begin with by ANY means), but I still weigh about 15 pounds less now than I did before I was pregnant.

Post a reply!Hi :)

I gained 22kgs with my 1st baby & 14kgs with my 2nd - Oddly enough with the 1st one (my son now 2 yrs 4months) that 22kgs just disappeared with day to day running around, substituting driving to the shops for walking & and I breastfed which is supposed to help, my little girl is 7 months and I still have 4kgs to go until I'm back to normal - with her I've been going to the gym 4 days a week, lots of walking and changed my diet to a healthier one ... but I'm finding the weight a lot harder to lose even though it was a smaller weight gain. Just remember anything is better than nothing, so try walking more, it'll be good fot you and the bub will love it!!
