Don't worry too much. As long as she is reaching her other milestones she'll be fine. My eldest didn't crawl till 12mths and walk till 19 1/2 mths! She is now 5yrs, perfect in every way and is excelling at school.

you cant force a child to do things before they are ready. She will do it in her own good time or not. Some children never crawl just get up and walk. Try not to compare her to others (I know its hard not to) all children are unique.

My son was about 6 months too...my son also basically skipped the crawling stage and went right into walking. I always encouraged him to move towards his favorite toys and put it on the couch...One thing that moved him right along is alot of two hand walking him around...he loved it..he felt free and he would get mad when we wouldnt walk him around...so he started picking himself up on the couch and it went from there.

None of my kids crawled they just walked. They were 10, 10.5, and 11 months old when they walked....

She'll do it when she's ready, Maria. I don't think it's a matter of "refusing" to crawl, it's a developmental thing, not a discipline thing. Many kids skip the crawling stage and go straight to walking. She's her own little person and she'll follow her own schedule, no-one else's!

Some babies never crawl (or they may army crawl or roll instead). My son went straight to walking at 10 months. Does she pull herself up on furniture and stand? She may not feel the need to crawl.

I know of several children that went from rolling to standing with no crawling involved.
Several others that went roll,.. crawl... RUN
My first rolled, crawled, and walked before he was 8 months....
My second, rolled, scooted and walked: (She was about 14 months when she walked) no crawling at all

I wouldn't worry about it. None of my children crawled. Not really...they just started standing up and walking around 11 months...Don't push it! Every child has its own clock on when to start doing things!

dont worry about it to much, my son crawled at 6 months but i know a lot of babies that didnt crawl till much later

my son is 7 and a half months old, isint rolling or crawling, refuses to be on his tummy...
he likes to be held by the hands and helped to walk.... they will do it when they ready i suppose....

My son just started crawling two days before he turned 8 months old. Like the others have said - all babies are different. Don't worry ... I'm sure once she starts whatever her mode of transportation is going to be (crawling, scooting, walking, etc) ... she will be off and running with it. Good Luck

I wouldn't worry too much. My daughter pretty much went from crawling to walking in 2 weeks. Once she found herself crawling she started pulling herself up straight away, so she almost skipped the crawling phase. She was around 9 months. A friend of mine has a little one who didn't start crawling until recently, and she has just gone 12 months. But she is already standing up and just about ready to take her first steps. It will happen when she is ready.

My son was 6 months. But I wouldn't worry too much yet, she will start to crawl, some kids even sort of skip the crawling stage and go right to walking! Can she roll over and sit on her own? I had a friend who's son never really did the crawling thing, he would move along on his belly but then he started standing and walking.
