And how likely is it? i have a 6 week old baby and i have been having sex with my boyfriend for the past three weeks. i did not tell my doc about my sexual activity but i was put on the nuva ring

Its good to keep a six months gap for next concieve.But if u want too early pls atleast keep 3 months thats essential for the next baby to be healthy and for ur health too.

my son was only 8 weeks old when I fell pregnant with my daughter wasn't planned but I was still over the moon. I was taking the mini pill but hadn't been taking it very long. See your doctor, take a test to be on the safe side.

You can get pregnant as soon as your period starts up, but that doesn't mean your body is ready for it. It takes a long time for your body to recover from pregnancy, so take some time for that.
If you are interested in sex already, great. Just take precautions. If you are only doing it for his sake, then go easy on yourself. Men often don't know that we need a break and extra recovery time before having sex again. Of course, my deliveries were all C's so it was at least 3 months before I even felt comfortable with sex again.

Wow...like others have said...I don't know how you can even be interested in sex so early after having given birth. Give your body time to rejenerate, pregnancy & birth take alot out of you.
You can get pregnant right away but if you do think that you might be pregnant get an early test & find out for sure before taking anything & if you are on the ring ...stop taking it!

I also got pregnant with my daughter September 30 of 99 when my son Dawson was 11 months old to the day so it can happen I have 2 older boys and it usually took me almost a year to get pregnant with my 3 boys but the last one it happened right away at the time I was very upset but after the birth of my daughter it wasn't that bad we made sure there were no more surprises and my husband had a vastomey.

My first son Mitchell was born 17/08/95 and I gave birth to his brother Dylan 05/08/96. Dylan was 2wks early! Their father used the pull out method as I had not yet gone back on any birth control. You can never be too careful. I fell pregnant with Mitch while I was on the pill !!

i fell pregant only a weeks after having my first as i wasn't told that i could pregant so quick i had my eldest 2 in the same year first in the jan the 2rd in the dec so anly 11 months apart it was hard but we manged and there so close now it's great.

Just like everyone said, you can get pregnant after giving birth and you really are the most fertile. The thing that I really can't get passed is that you would want to have sex my son is 3 months now and the first 8 weeks I was so sore and the bleeding was so gross and now I just can't even think about it with taking care of the little one, working at home and doing the regular household chores.
You should really be honest with the doctor. I was also given the Nuvaring and if I were you I would go back to the doctor and have them do a blood test since it may not really show on a urine test to make sure you truly aren't pregnant before continuing on birth control.

Well first of all It takes 18 moths for your body to go back completley to normal after having a baby. If your already having sex before the six weeks time...it can mess you up permantly! I wouldnt reccomend it.

you can fall straight away as i did i found out that i was pregnant again when my daughter was10 wks old and it was a shock to have fallen but it was my own fault as i wasnt taking any contraceptive. But if your worried about this then i wud take a pregnancy test just to be sure you might not be but it will ease your mind i carried on with my pregnancy and there is 11 months between my daughters but they are best mates! So Good Luck!!

I would definitely get bloodwork done to see if you are pregnant, you can get pregnant immediately after delivery if you could manage the deed that soon, but you should definitely get tested before going on the birth control. I would use other methods of birth control, but do keep in mind that condoms can fail ( I can attest to this as I am pregnant with my second child, having used condoms). If you are pregnant, get to your doctor ASAP and he/she will likely tell you to take folic acid along with your maternity supplements because your body won't have recovered enough of it's vitamin/mineral stores so soon after you first baby.

you can fall pregnant straight away, i was told as long as you breastfeeding you cant but found out that not ture! thank god i didn't find out personally, but i got iud put in, if you get one put in, it actually protections is back dated, i would go to family planning clinic as they can test you and help, you can get a positive reading before 3 wks, TRUST ME

That's great that you have bounced back so quickly! Definitely ask your doctor what protection you can use if you don't want to get pregnant straight away. If you're still having unprotected intercourse now, then you might have to wait another 21 days before you could test after the last time. Speak to your doctor about what you should do.

My daughters are 3 days shy of 1year apart. This AFTER my husband had a vasectomy. My second daughter was full term but only weighed 5 lbs 13 ozs because my body was drained and could not give her the proper environment to be strong & healthy. You must seek medical attention. As for your boyfriend he should take some birthing classes to see what a woman's body goes through after labor & delivery. I understand sex is good for your "relationship" but now your life is not your own so sacrifices are a must. Cuddling with your baby & the father can be better than any orgasm.

If you feel you may need to test, go ahead and test. You are the most fertile after delivering a child. Dr.s wouldn't say wait 6 weeks just to say wait. They have their reasons for it... I have 2 friends that didn't wait... one had a baby in Jan of 99 and a 2nd child in Dec of 99. The other had a baby in late November of 07 and another in Sept of 08.

You can get a blood test done they will be able to find the pregnancy hormone much faster in blood than in a urine test. Until then i would refrain from using the pill. hope all works out well. enjoy your baby they dont stay babies very long.

YOu are most fertile right after you give birth, for like the first 6 months. Are you trying to have another one? If not stop having sex without protection.

you can get pregnant very soon after having a baby , my boys are a year and one month apart and my middle boy and my lil girl are one year and four months .... so its very easy to become pregnant again ............................... good luck !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok I just have to ask how the hell sex is even on your mind that soon after? lol definitely not on mine! I don't know how anyone can do it, I remeber having sex w/my husband 7 weeks after and I was in incredible pain. I was still very sore and certainly not looking forward to it again. However, to answer your question I'm sure it is possible to get a positive result already.

can i just say that you dont have to be four wks to get a positive result the new tests work even before a missed period so you can set your mind at rest now. i was only 3 wks when i found out i was pregnant with my son. good luck

i guess i was young and crazy! i was only 20 when i had my boys and that was a huge part of our relationship, we were young and in love. ok, so that's bs, but anyway. i wasn't too sore i guess, it seems like forever. but i had the epideral and the babies came out in 2 small packages. my big boy was only 5lbs 13oz, with a little head. no rips, tears or cuts. it did hurt when we had intercourse, but i guess i was worried i'd loose him if i didn't do it. like i said, i was young and crazy!

i met a girl who had a daughter in jan or feb and twin boys in sept of the same year. her boys were born about 2 months early i think. it's been a while since i saw her. she had been pregnant when she went in for her 6 week checkup. her boys ended up with developmental delays due to their early birth. as for the birth control, all of it comes with a warning- do not use if you are or think you may be pregnant. there is a reason for that warning! i can't say much, my 2 pregnancies resulted from not using any birth control. i was put on the depo after my 1st delivery, of twins. we had intercourse 3 weeks after their birth, so i can't say much about that either. i've lived and learned, with my 2nd delivery, sex was the farthest thing from my mind, and still is almost 9 months later. sex is no longer a major priority in my life, my partner would disagree on his part, but oh well!

Your body needs at least a year to recover. Iron stores alone take that long to recover after a pregnancy. You've gotta be careful.

Like everyone else said..you are more fertile after birth than you were before you concieved. My kids are 15 months apart and that is close enough. I tried waiting for the 6 weeks of non-sexual activities but it seemed like the first time we had sex, I got pregnant right away! It blows your mind away sometimes. My nickname was fertile myrtle! LOL!! But with my third child I waited for 2 yrs. Go get a test done to make sure you are or not and if by chance you are not get on the pill/shot which ever way you choose. Good luck to you!

Jamie alot of woman have been made mothers from the "he pulled out method". I do not know how old you are and I also do not know of your support system. Jamie, you really should not be having sex before six weeks at least. It is the time for your body to heal from the miracle of life. This is from a medical standpoint. Please take care of yourself so you can take care of your baby. If your boyfriend needs sex so badly tell him that is what god gave him two hands for. Masturbation works wonders. Do yourself a favor and get some medical help with this. Do not take chances by taking the pill until you have yourself tested for pregnancy.

Duh.. right away! Sorry to be so blunt but my little sister did the same thing and now she has 3 kids..2 of which are barely 9 months a part. You need to let your body heal after having a baby, is sex really that important that you would risk your life and possibly the life of an unborn child!

not trying to get pregnant again soon after pregnancy but i have had sex alot in the past 3 weeks, he withdrew but i know that is not too effective, for some reason my whole question did not get posted, i am on the nuva ring and don't know if i should stop taking it until i find out for sure if i am pregnant. i know it takes 4 weeks to get a positive result and its only been three. should i stop taking it or just wait an see what happens?? i do not want to have to have a dnc or have a spontaneous abortion
