I had a c-section on Feb. 16 of this year with my first daughter. My doctor never said anything to me about how long I should wait to get pregnant again. I was just curious if anybody had ever been told a certain amount of time to wait or if anybody else has become pregnant 4 months after a c-section??

My baby boy Ben was full term still born and I had to have an emergency csection. I know I can never replace my baby angel but I feel the need to have another baby as soon as possible. I have a complete nursery with no baby. I have all this love to give and no baby. My heart aches for what I have lost. I just want to be a mommy. Ben would have been my first child. He was born on 12-16-11 and wanted some advice on how long I should wait after the csection to have another baby. I want to start trying asap but I don't want to jepordize the life of another baby. Ben was perfectly healthy but had his cord wrapped around him which caused his death. The dr said I was completely healthy and there was no reason why I shouldn't be able to have another baby. He did recommend 9-12 months but I don't want to wait that long. If anyone has a story of getting pregnant soon after csection and how everything turned out please share with me. Thanks so much!

I became pregant with my third child 2 1/2 months after my second C- section, but I don't recall my doctor ever saying anything about how long you should wait. I have had 3 C- Sections in 3 years and I am fine. Don't worry!!!

I fell pregnant 3 months after my first daughter a c-section, unfortunatley I lost the bubby, my doctor explained that i wasn't healed properly, I then fell pregnant again when she was 6 months old and now have 2 healthy girls, the doctor explained unless there was complications you should be completely healed after 6 months :)

My mom had all of us via C-Section. My brother and I are only 13 months apart. We are both happy healthy adults. Don't worry you will be fine. Congratulations!

I know that me as well as other friends who have had a c-section were told to wait a six months to a year to try and become pregnant again. If you have become pregnant before you are not the first woman to whom this has happened but I would consult your doctor as soon as possible. But since it is so soon after the first c-section the doctor might not be willing to try for a vbac (vaginal birth after ceaserean). Good luck with the second pregnancy.

Well I was asking because last night I took an ept and it came back positive. But my doctor is Germany where my husband is stationed in the Air Force and I can't call him until my visit in the states is done on July 18th. I was starting to worry a bit so I figured I would see if anybody else had gone through the same thing. Thanks!

I seem to recall hearing or reading it's best to wait 18 months between pregnancies so your body has time to fully recover all it's lost nutrients and everything. I had a C-section and plan on waiting till at least then to get pregnant again. But you know, things don't always go according to plan. I would check with your doc about how soon is "too soon". My doc never said I had to wait a certain amount of time either.
