For my daughter, I was going for the names: Sophie, Sophia, Emily or Isabella, but my girlfriend has two daughters named Sophie and Emily so had to cancel those two names out of my list. So Isabella seemed like the obvious choice....but then, when she was born, one look at her and I decided that she doesn't look like a Sophia. So I decided on 'Emma' and added 'Rose' (taken from my name) so I now have a 10.1/2 month old baby called 'Emma Rose'. She does look like one too!

After searching through baby name books, credits on the TV, And grave stones we decided to have a look in the Bible, we named our little boy Joel.

Some tips on finding names, is just look in magazines and the whatchamacallit after a movie, and just keep your ears and eyes open for names that catch your attention...

My husband really liked the name Addyson which I was not fond of but agreed to because I was convinced it was gonna be a boy anyways, so I got to pick a boys name. I picked Isaiah David. I like biblical names, and David is my father in law. It turned out to be a girl, so my husband got his Addyson and her middle name is rachel which is my middle name. Now I love the name Addyson. :) It's always tough to pick a name. You can love it one day and the next not be so sure, but once you have the baby, and you have given it a name, you will fall in love with the baby and the name.!

my son we picked Conner Jakson, we want to be able to shorten it to CJ, so he could have a nick-name like his father, which is LJ. We called our daughter Morgan Paige, no special reason really except for the fact that we really fell in love with the name, we really wanted to call her Paige but couldn't decide on a second name to fit, so it became her middle name. We wanted good strong names for both our children and something that wasn't a name you heard a lot. We stayed away from family names only because we didn't want to upset anyone. All the best! : )

we wanted to name our kids with very diffrent names than what had always been used in our families.so we decided on Veronika Jade for a girl and Dalton Alexander for a boy (It was a boy) and ten years later we got pregnant again! so this time we found out she was a girl....What I did was make a list of 15 names I liked ( we stuck with Jade) and from there we elimanated all the ones we couldn't agree on. So we ended up with

Hunter Jade Emily ( I found out my sons midle name is the same as my grandfathers so my little girl also got my grandmothers name(Emily) ) Also we picked our sons first name from the movie Roadhouse... the middle name was just cause we agreed on it lol.

the name I had picked for a boy just in case was Jakob William

Ah, names! I tend to lean towards naming my children after important people or icons in my life. My first son, Johnathan Paul was named after John Lennon- but also Paul is short for Pauline, which is my late mother-in-laws name. My next baby, due in May will be named London Caillean (named after the city of my birth in England and the second name after an important literary figure) or Jacob Nigel (Jacob is an important name in my family and Nigel is my father's name - there is a tradition in my family of giving the grandfathers name as a middle name to a son). How about you? Have you decided yet?

I thought of the favorite people in my life and in history and narrowed the list to names that sounded good.

I've known the name I've wanted for my first boy for awhile. I wanted a biblical name and something that couldn't be shortened because I don't like all those nicknames for boys. (i.e. Nick, Nate, Jon, Steve, etc) So we went with Noah. It worked out for us that many family members including my husband and our fathers have the middle name Edward so we picked that for the middle name. I love my little Noah Edward.

We didn't even start discussing names until we knew the sex of our kids. Before I had said I liked the name Corbin for a boy and Evelyn for a girl. But instead we ended up with Eric Von and Leah Evelyn. I've got a long story about Von as a middle name that I won't get into. Let's just say I lost a bet to my husband. I just wanted names that were common enough to not be asked "how do you spell that?" their entire lives, but not so common that there would be 2 other kids in the class with the same name.

Once I knew we were having a boy I wanted to name him Brody and my husband wanted to name him Wesley. In the end, we named him Sean. My grandma had suggested the name and when he was born we just knew he was a Sean. His middle name is Ryan, which is my husband's name.

My daugter is named Madrienne (my mother's middle name-pronounced to sort of rhyme with dream, not like adrienne with an m) Nicole (a name my husband liked) and my son is Sawyer (one of the twins' real names on everybody loves raymond) Abbot. Abbot is a name I found on a tombstone when I was touring a cemetery in New Orleans. Sounds creepy, but it just sounded right. My daughter called him Sawyer Rabbit when she was little.

All of my children have been named for relatives that have passed away. Some of their names are direct and others are based on the first letter of the relative. My husband and I have taken baby name books, made lists of the ones we liked and put it all together.

My husband always said if we had a boy he wanted to name him Damian. So no matter how much I tried to get him to consider other names he was set on Damian. So our son is Damian Michael. When I was pregnant with my daughter I wanted to name her Bella which was a name I used to call my mother, but my husband was not crazy about the name. I have always loved the name Jade and have said since I was a teen that I would name my daughter that, so therefore, my daughter is Jade Michele.

We had the name Riley picked out in the beginning, but when she was born she didn't look much like a Riley. After flipping through some magazines (In Touch I belive ha ha ha) we called her Sophia. After Sophia Bush from One Tree Hill ( and I don't even watch that show.)
