My daughter is 9 months old and has no desire to crawl.. What can I do to help out? She is always on the floor playing so that isn't the issue.

My son is 8 months and started crawling about a week ago. The doctor told us that we had to find some kind of way to get him to crawl or move around because of his weight. So we started him off by placing him on his tummy and leaving his different toys about a foot or more away from him. He would always try to move to it but then we noticed he did better when he sat up first then moved to his toys. after about a week of doing this he learned to rock back and forth on his hands and kmees. Now he can crawl everywhere in the house.

its ok if they dont crawl when they are suppose to but crawling does develop motor skills so its not a bad thing for them to learn to crawl but dont freak out she will crawl when she is ready to, all kids are different. but if you want to try and get her to crawl what me and my husband did was lay our son on his belly and put his favorite toy in front of him and then both helped him crawl to it to show him how then clapped when he got it, we did this with him a couple of times then sat his fav. toy infront of him and let him try but before he got upset cuz he couldnt do it we would help him again and still encourage him even though we helped him get the toy and i think mabe three or four days mabe a week i cant quite remember but soon enough he just got up and started crawling and we just kept encouraging him. so if you want try that with her favorite toy... hoped this helps

i wouldnt worry to much i have two friends whos children never crawled they both bum shuffled then went straight to walking. if you r really concerned i would consult an expert but dont worry to much all kids do things at different times and its always on there terms

some babies dont crawl. my ped told me it not a big deal as long as they walk with in the normal age range. i wouldn't worry about it to much unless your ped has a problem with it
