Can anyone help me please I am at my wits end. My daughter is 2years and 2months and still drink full time breast when i am around. She refuses to take the bottle when i am around and she still keeps me out of sleep because she would want to sleep with my breast in her mouth.please help

I nursed all 5 of my children and out of all of them my little girl was the hardest to wean.You have to pump for the daytime feeding and show her she is getting mommy milk in her cup.At this age she can have regular milk added also,but the flovor of your milk is what she likes so slowly add regular milk to your breastmilk.Once you get all daytime feedings to a cup or bottle then work on a bedtime feeding the same way.Chamomilla tablets helped my little one during her hardest times(she would really throw a fit for the breast).Don't give up,she will get over it.I always started weaning them from daytime feedings at 16 months and by 24 months they were done with the breast all together!

I don't see any problem with her still wanting to breastfeed. I am going to breastfeed my children until they decide they want to stop. If its so hard, she's probably not ready. 2.5+ is average age to start self weening.

Idk! My son is older then that and still breastfeeding too. I'm going to just let him wean when his body is ready. I'm not into forcing.
Whatever you do, just be kind. Your girl has breastfed every day of her whole life, imagine how hard it is to be told no when she's had it since birth!
If it's too hard to wean her then she's obviously not ready, maybe wait longer. Eventually she will wean herself if it's easier for you just forget about weaning and let her choose when to grow out of it

Hi Roxanne, I understand how you feel. My son breastfed until just before two years old. He would have continued LONG past, if I had let him.
What I did was to slowly drop one feeding/nursing session at a time. He never did like bottles, so I got him sippy cups and open mouthed (regular) cups instead. I then put pumped breast milk in those. We went through a time when he only wanted milk from me, so he only drank water and vegetable juice from cups.
Slowly I stopped one feed at a time. Sometimes he would refuse to drink from a cup for a while, but then became thirsty enough that he would. Eventually I stopped the last feed and told him he was a big boy and didn't need "nursies" anymore. I gave him another "special cup" and just sood firm, not giving in. Some people feel it helps to go away for a day or two, but I wasn't ready to leave him overnight yet. Good luck!!

It's not uncommon to breast feed this late. If you want to start weaning start giving him a bottle every now and then. Then slowly decrease the breast feeding.
